So no one else would be disappointed if we just have Africa and Afghanistan to repeatedly go into missions to?
That would be enough for the game, more areas and it would be too big imo.. Those two areas are all we need, with the former being important for outer heaven and other characters.

I just don't get it. The game looks complete? Why isn't their a release date yet?
This part of the game looks complete, sure, but not every part is necessarily.

For example, we have MGO3, which we have no idea if it is even close to being complete considering development on it only officially started less than a year ago.

You know something, if they showcased 30 minutes with no goofing around and just acquiring intel and returning to MB just check thing out for a glimpse. Ok a little bit of goofing and it took half an hour for a small mission. This got me wondering about how long the full playthough for full experience could be! Not just a rush playthrough. Man, I think this gonna be a long that I will have to take 5 days off work just for my 1st through. YES, this is going to be the ultimate MGS for me.
Honestly i dont see the main story exceeding 10 hours.
PW was a 5 hour game in a 40+ hours of filler shit

as long as there are things to do in both maps i don't find it disappointing. but one has to question if there are only 2 maps, how will the game flow? if we destroy a stronghold, is that area now void of guards the next mission within that same map? or is everything reset every mission?

I wouldn't mind. I miss the days where MGS was an isolated incident rather than globe-trotting.
How true, never put it into perspective that way, my mind went to the shallow zone thinking 'ONLY 2 FUCKING MAPS?!'

but the map sizes are so big that they can fit the entirety of MGS series maps in them plus an epic size more than that, so lots of exploring etc, I hope Africa has at least a nice vast jungle section. I miss my MGS3 days of touring Svyatogornyj

I'd be disappointed but thats because I don't want to just look at orange rocks during the whole game. I miss the isolated locales of older games but now that there is a lot more to the hardware, I feel like only two maps would be wasted opportunity. If they had other locations like snow capped mountains, they could have other weather effects, different strategies for handling situations and I'd be able to Fulton me a reindeer.

Yeah, While MGS4 was a sore spot to me, it spoiled us in the vast locations you could visit. Albeit very linear, but still, FUCKING SHADOW MOSES... ahem...

give me Snow.. Acid boss will be a happy camper.

This scenario is pure 'tutorial' as Kojima says, so it technically *is* a cut scene, but you're controlling it. I absolutely see your point, but I somehow believe this will be an isolated scenario and we won't see many examples of this after that hospital scene (intro to the game).

Yeah it's pretty much a given that the hospital portion will be linear and it will probably be mostly cutscenes too. I would say we've seen about 90% of it already the same way we seen most of Ground Zeroes prior to release.

I've love to see a return to just one isolated place to infiltrate like Shadow Moses or Big Shell again.

I'd argue that the location in this presentation whilst beautiful is a little generic? It's hardly going to stay in the mind is it?

Idk, I'd be pretty disappointed with only Afghanistan and an African map. I get the impression that Afghanistan is big, but not super big. I currently envision Afghanistan's area being equal to something like 15 Camp Omega's (Which isn't really big considering all the roads between the bases).

And I'm still holding out for a huge, indoor complex map. Something that will feel a lot like MG1, MG2, or MGS1. (Maybe that Skullface hideout?)
