Yeah, the AI is very likely dumbed down for the purposes of the presentation. GZ's AI was fine for the most part and difficult to get around at times, so I expect TPP's AI will also be fine - or better, assuming they've tweaked it since. :)

And? the AI was still dumb in the final game (GZ) so is TPP. Not crying about it but still this getting on my nerves having a serious tone game and seeing this AI.
Also Pop ins, this needs to be fixed, as some critics mentioned the pop ins are not acceptable in such a big game where the distance and graphics are so important.

Yeah they have an easy mode programmed that's just for presentations like this. Have any of you seen the gameplay that FROM shows of their Souls series at conventions? It's all triple health, double stamina etc etc. Devs have to compensate for how horrible most of the gaming press is at actually playing games.

Also I think maybe your expectations are unrealistic, man. I can't think of any stealth AI that's "better" than this. Easier to be spotted, maybe, but still just as gamey and predictable. Regarding draw distance, I can't think of a single studio that's done that better either. All of Ubisoft's open-world games have more draw distance. GTAV was probably a little better, but every other open-world Rockstar game was horrendous in this area. Arguably Infamous: Second Son had very good draw distance, but since it's a PS4 exclusive SP didn't have to worry about optimizing it for five different platforms.

He has a point... I think this game should have been focused on next generation rather than current gen and next together as they had to limit some things.

What we have seen so far is awesome, but for next gen standards, it should have better AI, it looks far too easy to do anything, tedious to say the least. Snake is soo much in control it looks far too easy to tranquilize every enemy. This marker thing has kinda ruined the stealth, even in ground zeroes... its just abit of a nuisance really..making the game far too easy.

Wish this game could revolutionize the gaming industry but taking approaches to the AI, and not just changing the series to open world.

I have seen the demo presentation, i like everything so far, the graphics, the game mechanics, the characters' models,the mother base, everything. Until i saw a twitter from Kojima that said that the game is still in early development.... Yeah... Im going to bang my head against the wall now! :headbang:

The AI is not superb, but it not terrible. Their capabilities are significantly reduced in the default normal mode, which is what we are seeing. In hard mode in GZ, even with half of the positions and patrol routes committed to memory, they still end up investigating/spotting me quite often because of carelessness or because I underestimate them.

Speaking about difficulty level, have they ever spoke about that? I really don't want to have play through the game on normal mode just so I can play on hard mode like in GZ.

I'm certainly hoping that you can go Hard straight away. Normal was nice and good way to get to known the new gameplay mechanics while keeping the mission challenging at the same time but I seriously want to go for Hard right away especially after so many hours with GZ.

I don't know why is everyone bitching about the AI??

Yes, it is not perfect but it is not that bad it needs just a small tweaks.

I haven't played other stealth games for a while (TLOU, Thief), but blind soldiers are a constant part of stealth games

I think MGS has a better AI than many games regarding stealth aspect.

Damn it, I really wanted to see some combat in Mother Base and how your soldiers react and and all that.

Nonetheless it looked absolutely amazing. I really don't see how this could not win Game of the Show at E3. And this is the tiniest fraction of the final game as well.

oh and i almsot shit myself at the start when Ocelot was talking and it seemed like he said 'Colonel Volgin's men are in control of this region'. I almost spat out my pasta i was eating and replayed that bit but it was some other name. Also, loved hearing all the guards speaking Russian. And dat arty strike tho

Things I really didn't like:
-Big Boss had no lines, almost felt like a silent protagonist. His silence at all times feels really weird.
-Ocelot shouldn't look that old! He's younger than Big Boss!
-Horse shit is actually really disappointing and poorly modeled/animated. If you're gonna do something, do it right!
-Day/Night cycle is too short?
-Did they fix the myriad of issues with vertical movement? Probably not!
-I don't like how the camera changes angles whenever you do anything to hide the game's deceptively amateur animation systems. Especially weird considering the no-cuts gimmick in all the cutscenes.
-You can airstrike an entire base, but you can't get any ground support?

Things I REALLY LIKE:
-BOX TRICKS BOX TRICKS! BOX DIVE! BOX POP! BOX!
-Kaz's aviators are a fucking significant plot point holy hell this game is too self aware
-YOU CAN AIRSTRIKE AN ENTIRE BASE. YOU CAN BLOW UP AN ENTIRE LEVEL WITH THE CLICK OF A BUTTON.
-Ocelot's new VA is amazing and it's awesome to FINALLY be on the same side as him for once.
-The levels actually look really well designed and the patrol routes look like they had a lot of thought put into them
