Playing it on harder difficulty adds immersion since you have to be more aware of your surroundings and whats going on in them plus it makes the game last longer since you have to take more time to plan your approach

This. I'm not crazy about hard games, but every single stealth game I've played turned out to be a better experience with harder settings. Makes you feel actual need of being stealthy. |

If I had to guess, it's most likely that they didn't do much with files and so on. Plus that 1080 & 60fps probably takes some room. |

I get it. I play on harder difficulty and Big Boss runs in every MGS entry. Hence my nickname. But not on the first run. Frankly, I think this is the reason kojima didn't put the hard difficulty right away is to enjoy the game and the story before doing the challenges... Aw also, to to put more length to the game. |

Who says that someone cant enjoy a game on hard? Some (people like me) prefer the game on hard from the get go for the ultimate expirience. You only have a first playtrough once. |

This. Your first playthrough is the best. You don't know what's going to happen, where the enemies are, what's the best approach, etc... Making us play the game on normal first would be a major mistake. Like others, I enjoy the challenge, not to measure dicks but because the game is so much more tense that way. |

Well, you make a point. But playing a game on hard for the first time can be very frustrating as hell which can result in having a sour taste for a game for the first time. I prefer to make sure and guarantee that I'm gonna enjoy the game. |

9 but as soon as you start putting people to R&D section, you literally get infinite number of them - only way to spend them is by not putting anyone on R&D team after opening mission. |

Reflex mode mechanic is just like the Mark and Execute in Conviction, sure, you can add a selfmade artificial handicap disabling it to make the game harder, but the game without doubt was build around that mechanic, even Kojima recommend the use of Reflex. |

Nah, If we go by that logic then choosing dificuilties(easy to extreme) in games its also an selfmade artificial handicap. You see reflex mode is a mechanic that can be adjusted pregame just like your conventional difficulty settings(but reflex is an more in depth option) A selfmade handicap is when you impose or have an abstinence to a game mechainc ingame Edited by Novitch, Jun 26 2014, 09:34:03 PM.
