I liked the graphics and the gameplay presentation, delivered what i expected and a bit more. The only thing i wonder right now is if we're getting a release date at TGS. Edited by Tokyo Tapes, Jun 28 2014, 01:20:10 AM.

You not being in the mood doesn't mean I'm not ![]() -He straggles the enemy from behind -The enemy runs for cover because Joel is armed, Joel kills him. -Another shoots from behind cover, while another ducks from cover to cover. -Joel aims at the first, he ducks and the second tries to flank him and gets killed. -The first shoots Joel and is joined by another who again tries to flank him. -Joel runs for a nearby door to cut the enemy off, but he doesn't appear. -The first slowly moves towards the door, so Joel run towards the room - where the second was obviously hiding. -Joel battles with him and uses him as a shield. -He aims at the first enemy who again ducks, then gets shot. -Joel kills the shield. -Another appears, Ellie bricks him and Joel kills him. -Two more appear and Joel kills one with Molotov and battles the other. -Finally another attacks only for Ellie to save him. Joel shoots him with the shotgun. All can happen in the final game. |

I assume this is about how the first TLoU reveal was different to the actual game. The demo did make the gameplay seem a lot more organic than it actually was. What we got in the end was still amazing but not as good as that demo made it out to be. |

Bring me a clip where the AI for both enemy and Ellie is similar to the demo and I'll admit defeat. Plus, you can't fight over the enemy shotgun and pump it like he did in the demo. I guarantee you the way the enemy move was scripted in that demo and the game will never play like that ![]() And don't get me started over Ellie's AI!! |

I've personally had Ellie interfere, throw bricks, stab enemies, etc several times. The demo was played very aggressively with no real regard for supplies to show off the game *who the fuck wastes a molotov like that?* its entirely possible to play the game just like that, in that very same section if you want to. Also if Ellie's AI got detected, game would be absolute shit. Just saying. Would be an annoying drawn out escort mission. |

Same thing I've said since the game came out, sometimes sacrificing a bit of realism is a good thing if it makes the game less of an annoyance to play. Que Boxman saying "Looks like some idiots are still confusing "annoying" with challenge and depth" Edited by KoRnFlakes, Jun 28 2014, 02:28:07 AM.

ok, you made me go back and watch the demo and i'm actually surprised how similar the real thing ended up, but there are still clear differences. The key is that most of that stuff can happen it TLoU, but rarely does it happen as consistently and as cinematically as in the demo. Ellie will often say things at inappropriate times or when you aren't even near her, and she won't always run and hide in the right places either. We know about how she runs in plain sight of enemies and knocks things over all the time. Then there were a few things that never happen in the game: o I've never had an enemy wait for me behind a door and ambush me like in the demo o When Joel goes to grab the shotgun from the last guy, they tussle and fight over it. o An enemy will never pin you to the ground, and Ellie never intervenes by stabbing the guy with a knife in the real game. To be clear, I love TLoU and it's in my top 5 of all time, but as with all games the staged demo is not a good representation of real gameplay. |

A.I!? That's not A.I. That's a scripted animation. The enemies do search areas like that, they just had different contextual moves. And I guarantee you their movements happen in the actual game whether the demo is scripted or not. And Ellie does throw bricks and stab people in the back and that's all they show. |

I'm not talking about her being detacted but about the way she act: In the demo she was clearly hiding from the enemy while picking up a brick and talking to Joel while in the final game I'll be hiding and she'll be wondering around like there is nothing. The AI seems more natural in the demo. However, I'm not saying the AI in the game is bad. |

Fighting over the shotgun is the only thing that never happened with me. I've seen Ellie intervene many times, including stabbing with a knife before, especially when Joel is pinned down near a wall. Ellie's AI isn't nearly as polished as say Elizabeth's AI from BioShock: Infinite, but she isn't a disturbance and her contextualizations when in combat are alright. Again, the game can very well play out like that if you have a super aggressive play style, its just that most people probably play pretty conservatively. This is a demonstration of how an encounter in the game could happen, it isn't really misleading. Edited by The Baneposter, Jun 28 2014, 02:41:32 AM.

Of course, i'm not really referring to that as much as i'm referring to the way she moves around and interacts with what's around here, I mean its adequate and there are some neat subtleties at certain areas, but it isn't as organic as TLoU's counter part that year, Infinite. |

No. It looks solid, but there are far better looking games coming. The Witcher 3, Arkham Knight, The Order 1886 & Uncharted 4 to name a few. |

I don't think he was actually ambushing him. I've seen them stay in doorways trying to work out where you are and you don't know where they are either. And then they're suddenly there. |

What we got in the end was still probably the most organic-feeling action game out there. |
