is anyone else wondering how boss battles are gonna work now?

idk maybe it doesnt make sense, but i feel like the gameplay is actually like....too realistic for an actual boss battle. maybe im not describing it well. i just dont think boss battles will fit right with this game.

I was worried about that for CQC battles, but then again they might have MGS4 Ocelot vs Snake -type battles.

Other than that though I think it'll be alright for gun battles. I'm not worried about that one really.

I've tried my hardest to make out what Ocelot says when he takes out the iDroid but I can't hear it at all. I can hear him saying "The area ahead is under total Soviet control. Miller's been captive for ten days" but after that I can only hear something that sounds like "not much of" before Kojima and the other woman start literally screaming over it. This has to be intentional which makes me think he makes reference to something thats a pretty big spoiler. Somebody said in another topic that he mentions Big Boss has lost his memory.. which would make sense considering he doesn't speak at all and Ocelot needs to remind him that he's a legend.
I'm gonna go out on a limb and say Ocelot tells Big Boss that not much else is known (about his exact location, who captured him etc.)

Its actually not that weird that the Soviets would capture and torture an American soldier during what was essentially still the Cold War the real question is though what was Miller doing there?? My guess is that the XOF or Cipher had some kind of business there.

Gameplay looks awesome, but I'm still disappointed with the downgraded graphics (vs the 2013 E3 trailer footage) although after GZ this was not surprising really.

Now please give us a release date Kojima sensei.

It looks like there is weapon crafting like in PW.

We better be able to use the R&D department to craft a banana gun again.

Finally finished watching all of it through 15 minute breaks at work lol. Looks fantastic. I love the scale of the map, and tye number of enemies. The shift changes are a cool mechanic. I like how you actually have to study the area and use intel to plot a course. Mother Base is fucking rad. Although I wish they would have showed us a sparring match. Graphics look good. Personally I thought Ocelot's facial capture was spot on. Troy Baker is perfect. Sounds exactly how I imagined ocelot would sound between mgs3 and mgs. I love the base building and material collection. Very cool. The fulton is kind of silly but oh well. I'll still use it of course. Overall im impressed and extremely pumped to play this.

I guess that if there's going to be "Boss battles", they're going to be similar to Crying Wolf in MGS4 where you have relatively large, open area and enemies after you along with the actual boss. But probably not going to see 1 vs. 1 Boss battles unless there's going to be CQC battle - it doesn't fit the style the game is shown.

for god sake there is no damn downgrade, there is different lighting and a filter on because there was just a sand storm making everything yellow and grainy looking. The only difference is ocelots face is not as long compared to the other trailer. The lighting in the fox engine is astounding and if the lighting was the same in the demo it would show the same results as the e3 trailer

Na, there's quite a bit of detail missing from the background environment, Ocelot's coat, the shadows aren't quite as sharp, and the colors are washed-out. There's a noticeable downgrade and it's not entirely from a filter. Considering it's the same level of graphics for the gameplay, I'm still happy with it.

the shadows arent as sharp because the lighting has changed along with the time of day, also he didnt have the after effect with the filter in the last trailer compared to how he does now with the game and the background has been changed entirely, that does not mean there is a downgrade he structured the map different.

The pop-in and few odd rock texture hiccups are a little worrisome. This should have been a PS4/X1 release only. Or heck maybe it's just a Fox Engine issue that hasn't been solved yet. When snake is on his horse, in the jeep and in the helicopter the pop-in/texture stuff is really noticeable on the grass, trees etc. Hopefully they can iron that out and get it to stream properly. That's my only issue so far.

However the trade off is we are getting 1080p 60 fps which is good but..... I almost want to say I wish they locked it at 30 fps so we could get a little more juice in the details.

I mentioned this before, but here is my opinion: Great graphics are fine and all, and are very impressive during your first few hours of the game. However, after 20-30 hours into the game, you stop caring about why this plant is not casting better shadows, and start appreciating the fact that the gameplay is this smooth. So 60 fps is almost certainly better in the long run.

Part of me wishes that as well. That way if there ever will be a PC version (it seems likely) I could have both killer graphics and 60fps :P

the game isnt finished yet they can still polish it and i would take 1080p at 60fps any day compared to 30fps

I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only one who thinks that way. As long as the lack of shadow doesn't affect the gameplay, I don't care if it doesn't show or not.
