Hello Ive seen rumours online about ground zeroes mentioning "An underground nuclear facility in soutch africa" or something along those lines. Its mentioned on a few websites that post basic bullet point information about the games. If this is true could we maybe expect to see a portion of metal gear 1 in mgsv ? Just a theory but it would be brilliant to play as a young snake against an evil big boss...... |

Welcome to Outer Heaven

Yeah everyone has basically speculated that this 'Underground Nuclear Facility' is indeed what will become Outer Heaven in 1995. I expect us to see at least the construction of building one in MGS5 or at least some form of inclusion |

I think the facility is the area where you see Big Boss and Skullface at the end of the E3 2014 trailer. |

That does not mean anything. Clothing attires might be adaptable in the game or he could wear it again later in the game |

I was just messing ariund, but yeah, I don't think camos should be area specific. If I can remember correctly, loadout selection was confirmed for TPP, so perhaps the chose the camos to fit the areas to possibly make it more obvious that the game will have diffrent areas. |

Maybe it doesn't but if you watch the video in slow motion you'll notice that as the truck enters the facility, the area surrounding the entrance (grass, rocks, sand, bushes etc) looks exactly like the environment we've already seen in Afghanistan. |

I played gz again the other day and seen that bullet point in the credits and thought the same thing. I've always thought that we will see somewhat of a remake of mg1. This game allows the stories to be retold without ruining what will happen. A direct remake wouldn't be much fun in today's gaming |

The story of MG1 is pretty simple, they could just make it a really long final mission in the game, but that's unlikely. I only want it to be kept short so that MG2 can have its own full-fledged remake. |

Any mention of Outer Heaven makes me think of when Ryan Payton said "There's an area in MGS4 which players have been waiting to return to for 25 years!" and it turned out to be Shadow Moses. Completely off-topic, but I'm still mad about that. |

That would be cool, but Outer Heaven will probably be pretty big by the end of this game, so just imagine how big it will be when Solid Snake goes to infiltrate? It would be cool to have just one HUGE map to infiltrate. The first Metal Gear was decent in size for it's time, because I remember getting lost a lot... maybe that was the second one... yeah. They could definitely make them long games if they were to remake them, unless they made Metal Gear 1 & 2 one long game. I would rather have a full remake of 1 and 2. |

The theory is that's where we see the Zeke-like MG in the trailer, but that could be totally wrong. I don't think we'll see any of MG1 in the game but we could see the same locations as MG1 and MG2 and how those tiny nations were formed. Edited by Jim Houseman, Jun 28 2014, 07:44:37 PM.

@XOFDNUOH It doesn't have to be a one mission map. The story could end with Diamond Dogs disbanding, with Miller joining Foxhound and Big Boss and Skull Face shifting all remaining DD resources and capital for creating Outer Heaven, flash forward ten years and have you as a rookie Snake infiltrating that Outer Heaven. For the rest of the game onwards for gameplay purposes you still have all your staff, tech, and GMP, but instead of a Diamond Dogs Mother Base interface we get an Outer Heaven interface. Of course all that is just theory, I doubt it'll ever come true.
