Hey MGSF: I just made a twitter account @MGOFeedback in order to do just that: to give feedback. I made this thread in order for us to discuss exclusively about things we want in MGO3; to discuss elements of the game we want developers at L.A. studios to see and consider, so I have tweeted them a link to this very thread. Moderators, if you feel this thread is not necessary, take it down. I posted it because I thought it would be a more concentrated pool of ideas (for feedback only) than the currently pinned MGO3 thread. This is a thread that can start now (development) and continue (post-development). Lets take advantage of it! I'll start: 1) Bring back, in some form, Survival and Tournament: - This was a great way for clans, friends, or anyone to play competitively and be rewarded in doing do. 2) Character Customization: - Whether it's done in the likes of its predecessor, the Reward Shop, or someway else, players enjoyed their character feeling unique. 3) Matchmaking and Free Lobby servers: - Matchmaking allows for easy access into gameplay. Free Lobbies allow players to host games and create their own unique rules. Free Lobbies were a unique aspect of MGO2 that many people loved and used every day. Here's to MGO3, Reborn Edited by Solidus Reborn, Dec 22 2014, 03:00:24 PM.

Mods. please keep this thread up. It's hard to wade through that huge Mega-Thread and look for feedback. It would be nice to have a laser-focused, and less bloated thread solely for feedback, like this one. Now, then... - We want Free Battle to return: Having auto-matching only will be a deal-breaker for me, please give the players the ability to open up and modify their own rooms. -Bring back Text Chat: Another huge deal for me. This is important to a tactical game like MGO. Voice Chat won't be a good substitute to this, because A) Not a lot of people own Mics, even if they did the sound quality is terrible. B) Some people like me have trouble hearing what people are saying through their awful mics... Text chat is the way to go. -Codec Pre-Sets should be less serious: Honestly, what I heard in the trailer sounded very boring... One of the reasons MGO was good was the sheer ridiculousness of it all... Don't take that out. -Headshots should still be the focus: I'd hate to see people dying from 3 or 4 body shots, it'll make encounters all about spraying. Lower the body damage, and make headshots 1-hit kills. - No BF-esque Loadouts: We should be able to select whatever skill, uniform, weapon, or gadget we want. And mix them up too. If I want to wear a Ghille suit and carry a LMG, let me. - Leveling system: Should be something similar to MGO2, where your level goes up or down depending on how you perform. Just filling up XP bars is no fun, it just means you play the game for a long time and is no indication of skill. -Bring Back Survival and Tournament: Very important, made the community much more competitive. -Clan Options: They need to be as good, if not better, than MGO2. We should be able to draw our emblems. -Saluting: Would be nice, too. I'll probably add to this post in a while, but before that. I'll leave you all with this excellent video: Edited by Rikitatsu, Dec 22 2014, 05:45:11 PM.

This is not related to MGO3 but after watching that video I realized that MGSV still doesn't have any sidesteps or backrolls implemented. This will make melee boss fights difficult as we will have no option to dodge attacks. I remeber using these tricks against vamp. It made the boss fight easy and fun The dive option is only good for getting into cover quickly.

Use the same clan system MGO2 had Honestly, from any game I've ever seen, this sytem was by far the best. You could create your own emblem, clan names weren't limited to four characters and both of these would be displayed under your player name. Also, you could post up MOTD's everyone would be noticed of, and there were private game rooms as well where you could mess about. Display the player name above the character, not the PSN name Srsly, many people have retarded PSN names, such as a whole bunch of numbers (like 291874309218437092147120), or names that are very unmemorable (robert70987872387432). If this would mean we'd need to take another Konami ID, I'd gladly accept that. Heck, maybe we can even reuse our old ID's. |

Codec This is one of the things I loved, it just made the game so fun and ridiculous and times. I loved its uniqueness and the Japaneseness of it. Even if this game is to be more western I still want Codec. Levels The leveling system of MGO2 was great, one of the most frustrating yet enjoyable things on the game, but it did give a very true depiction of skill level. I do not agree with how BF and COD do leveling it proves nothing their level is meaningless its just play time not skill. GP I do not wish to see GP return as I honestly think that striving for GP was the reason our community became terrible and full of cheaters and arguments. I believe it should be replaced with an overall clan score. The amount of points earned from the team in survival should be ranked. I know this was so on MGO2 but with single players GP averaged out. But I think it should just be clan only not every player. The player should be graded on level and animal ranks and points in game modes not GP. Headshots This game no matter how you develop it to be played people will want QHS, its how every MGO has been played even down to MPO. So please make it so the game focuses on strategy and quickly downing enemies with HS. Health No health regeneration, you want slow/stealthy game modes, you don't want health regeneration. Simple as. |

The team asked for a feedback on the trailer, and I gave it to them. None of us know whether or not the final game will have less serious codec messages. It doesn't hurt to bring it up, 'bruh". |

MGO Character Name - Keep it separate from your PSN name. That way players dont have yo base their PSN name on what they want for MGO. Edited by Solidus Reborn, Dec 22 2014, 06:58:10 PM.

Lot of things to say: - No Health Regeneration First please bring back the health bar! Second,IF regen health absolutely has to stay then please at least tone down the film burn/blood that fills the entire screen when your injured. Or even better just keep the health bar in the top left(With our name) and have it refill to show it's regenerating. (Like GTA V) That way we aren't annoyed constantly by the blood/film effect that appears when injured. - (Important) L1 , R1 Aiming/Shooting PS4 Please please let us be able to choose to aim with L1 and shoot with R1 in the PS4 version. Maybe call it the MGS4 control option. L2 and R2 is really awkward shooting with while trying to move. It is so much more fluid with L1 and R1. Your fingers also do not feel stretched while shooting with L1,R1. L1,R1 shooting was extremely fluid in MGO 2 and it would be greatly appreciated if this option is available. Plus the PS3 version of GZ has it so why doesn't the PS4? Makes no sense. - Unique Name Creation Please let us create unique names for our characters like MGO 1 and 2 (please do NOT use psn/xbl id ) - Limited Tagging Tagging should be extremely limited in MGO 3. It should only be able to be used by a specific class or skill. It should have a time limit. It should last seconds. If it lasts until a player is killed it will ruin the gameplay. Please please do not make it over powered. Do not make it permanent. We should not see players getting tagged every few seconds. It will make the game become boring and casualized. Also please get rid of the orange triangles over enemy heads when spotted! Just let their body glow. - Possibly center the characters body more. Snake was way too far to the sides of the screen in GZ when aiming. - Free battle Custom host rooms like MGO 1 and 2. Host chooses map, settings. Max 16 players. - Practice Lobby Like MGO 2. So we can work on our techniques etc. - Official Weekly Modes Bring back Survival and Tournament modes from MGO 2. Max 12 players (6 vs 6) like MGO 2 - Keep vehicles, mechs out of official matches - Text Chat Like past MGO's with mute options. - Reward Shop We should be able to accumulate points like MGO 2 and spend them on gear. Individual options like knee pads, gloves, boots, head gear etc. (different colors, styles) - We should be able to choose our characters gender, voice and face (and name creation) when we first log in to mgo - Animal Ranks - Grade points or something similar to score our performance in official matches. - Fluctuating Levels Level system like MGO 2 where depending on our personal and team performance our level can drop or rise. We have to maintain it. Example: Do good in a match Level 14 to 15. Do bad - Level 15 back to 14. Max level 20 - Make aiming reticle larger and more circular like MGS4 - Options button on PS4 should bring up regular gameplay/camera options menu while touchpad should bring up Codec (press left side touchpad), Text Chat (hold touchpad) and map/idroid (press right side touchpad) - The orangle triangles when tagged should be removed. They are distracting. Just make the bodies glow. - Rescue with GA-KO , Capture with Kerotan - Name tags above friendly players heads when they are nearby. Name tags above enemy heads Only when aiming at them. - Saluting - Singing after (or during) match by writing <SONG> in text chat like mgo 2 - Do not let players choose their upload speed. It was abused, people used it to lag on purpose. - Some old MGO 2 maps returning would be a nice throwback. MGO 2 had MGO 1 maps for example. - A spectator mode where you can freely move camera and switch between players on your team. Adding/pasting in what I wrote on page 4: Maybe make running skill based again? That fast sprint we see in the trailer should be the max level for running. Then each skill below that gets slower. Or forget a runner skill and just add back the health/stamina bar in the top left like the past 2 mgo's. And running would deplete your stamina. You have to wait for it to fill up or look for rations. ![]() I also agree with what (SGR) SEAN wrote about guns staying equipped in player hands. I don't like how it just appears when you aim and then disappears. Thank you KojiProLA team! Hope our feedback helps! Edited by WaterN-ice, Jan 11 2015, 07:08:20 PM.

Im just gonna copy paste the feedback i have already posted somewhere else. Its just my opinion guys, if you feel like i want this game to be very much like mgo2, its because exactly that is the case, so get over it. Feedback: The one thing that really bugs me about MGO3 is that it will control like MGS5/Ground Zeros. The movement in those games just feels extremely irresponsive and is not optimal for any online game IMO. They made the movement so clunky to give it a realistic feeling, to make it seem like snake is a real human being who cant change 180degrees in an instant. In singleplayer, it makes sense to introduce such a change since enhanced realism is a decent trade for somewhat less responsive controls. In MGO though i feel that the clunky controls are really going to kill the game for me. When i play ground zeros like MGO2 i just get extremely frustrated because you cant do it. Moving around, making it hard to hit your head while aiming for your opponents head is dead in this game, its not a viable strategy anymore. What the gameplay is going to result in is spraying with your riffle until your opponent dies. Trying to aim for the head doesnt seem worth it since you cant escape the shots of your opponent like you could in MGO2 with the crazy movement options you had. The way your gun handles isnt great either. theres ridiculous recoil now, after 2 shots you have to re aim to get a decent shot off. This change also encourages going for body shots and just spraying down you opponent. I would also like the option to change the crosshair. I really dislike the crosshair for the stun pistol in particular and would prefer a more traditional crosshair or the one from MGO2. While im on it i would like you to give us the option to select our weapons with L2, R2. like in old MGS games. with the new system you have to let go of the left analog stick in order to change your weapon. This is a HUGE downgrade from the old system which honestly is superior in every way to the new one. Since changing weapons was so quick and you could do it while running and using the camera, the old system really didn't stop you from performing any action at all, while the new one takes priority over everything. The new system was made for MGS5 singleplayer where you will have a lot of weapons and gadgets, since this issue is non existent in MGO you should really give us at least the option to choose the old, factually superior system. Also let us cancel the reload animation by quickly changing weapons. Small advanced techniques like that are always fun, MGO2 had lots of those, you should copy some and introduce new ones. I also heard that classes will be in this game. Im interested in where you are going to take that concept but i think what class you are shouldn't dictate your outfit. like the sniper wears a ghillie suit, the medi has a cross on his vest and stuff like that. Customization was huge in MGO2. People would recognize you by the way you look, it was part of your online identity. I understand that being able to see what class someone is by looking at their appearance might enhance the tactical aspects of the gameplay, and for me gameplay stands above all, but maybe you find a better way of communicating such information, like a special sign beside their name or something like that. Keep MGO2 style leveling system, animals ranks, Survival, Tourney all that good stuff But seriously nothing will matter if the gameplay doesn't deliver and if it plays like Ground zeros i am more than skeptical. |

Guys, I have some interesting news: 1) Metal Gear Online (LA) Twitter page has seen my MGOFeedback page. 2) They responded to a question I posed to them (before I made this thread), so they might have seen this thread! MGOFeedback @MGOFeedback 8h8 hours ago @MetalGearOnline Two questions from the community: 1) Are there Free Lobby servers? 2) Are character creation names linked to PSN-ID? Metal Gear Online @MetalGearOnline 3h3 hours ago @MGOFeedback can't give an answer to that right now Keep posting guys! Remember this is for feedback only

Would it be possible to have GA-KO and Kerotan make a return? Not very vital, but it was also very much associated with MGO. If they don't return, please have some other goofy-looking goals to obtain, and not some bland McGuffin like a briefcase or something, that's been done to death by all the other competitive online games. Hell, even TF2 does it. |
