i think people arent going to use the binos all that much, more so if the game is as fast paced as theyre making it out to be.if you spot an enemy in the distance, you're more likely to shoot him in the nuts than to bother trying to tag him. plus if they keep the same item/weapon switch mechanics as GZ,its not like you can be afforded to select the binos from your inventory while youre being shot at from all directions. Depends really on a map and players individual playstyle. If there's going to be situations where you don't have scoped weapon and you spot someone long distance away (over 150 meters), it's most likely that you don't spend ammo and try to tag him if there's teammates closer to him. |

Just about every online game has had mechanics from its SP counterpart but that doesn't always mean it will translate to online play. Also bringing forth our concerns isn't ridiculous. They asked for feedback. We want to voice our opinions, take precaution and try to help shape the mgo we want to play. |

thing is,if bullet damage is anything like in the usual "faster paced" shooters, you will be able to kill the guy a lot faster than tag him.especially with the slower item switch mechanics, unless they make most weapon's range or recoil ridiculous. imo a mechanic such as MGO2's SOP features(monomania, scanning, etc) would be a lot better from a gameplay perspective(not so much from a realism POV),although we might just see both when the game gets released. |

Well, if they keep bullet spread & drop from GZ to MGO, it might be easier to mark moving target for teammates rather than trying to hit them non-scoped weapon at longer ranges - although with enough practice, you might hit them once or twice before they are out of open - depends really what kind of maps there's going to be. As for recoil - unless you fire single shots or three burst, it pretty much guaranteed that automatic weapons will hit anything but the target if you just keep shooting without breaks if it follows GZ shooting mechanics.
GZ did have interrogation marking which automatically marked multiple enemies near-by if they were within range so I wouldn't be surprised if interrogation plays part in MGO as method of marking or similar thing. |

I think implementing the interrogation option online could work out very well, as long as the time of indication is extremely limited. We don't need more than a couple seconds to give an idea of where the enemy is or potentially headed to. A player shouldn't have enough time to track and sneak up behind an enemy on the total opposite side of the playing field. I still don't like triangles all over my screen though. I could deal with it if there was an option to adjust the transparency or something and definitely limit the time of indication. |

Yeah, but I wasn't talking about bringing up concerns. I was talking about people judging new additions without even playing the game. Not to mention the gameplay we have hardly gives you a good picture of how the game will play in action. |

The triangles of death be terribad and horripoo, I played some ground zeros yesturday it was extremely easy to put the triangles of death above thier heads it doesn't even require a button press you just zoom in on somebody with the binos and it lights up in like a second or two of seeing them it's definately gonna make people stick to cover using the third person view to look over things to avoid being marked for death you can see how fast it is for a marker to appear with you looking at someone using binos in the video (just a one button hold click r3 to zoom more zoom = faster tagging) that's what it's like in ground zeros I played it yesturday to get some idea about what mgo3 control will be like how it will play and it's supposed to be a lot like that too do you really wanna be marked for everyone to see your exact location just because someone used binoculars instead of a gun? also you don't need to use the binos if you are close enough it happens just aiming a gun at someone and what if you are well camouflaged to the naked eye but someone scans with binos and it reveals you to everyone due to the magical triangles? I can say it be a game ruiner because I know shooting games and something like that gonna make it so difficult because spotted once everyone know your exact location until you die that is gonna ruin it for many people even the managed to shoot the guy who spotted them they gotta kill the whole eneny team while they can see exact location just to stop them knowing exact location. Also the twisty bodies are still in I think due to you running forwards camera backwards then raising weapon I was making snake twist in ground zeros like crazy also his new voice be so much softer it only gets nearly harsh as it was in combat situations he aint got a rough voice all the time no more. Can people play it in a run about randomly on contact popping odd shots here and there when they think they lined up a headshot yeah that's still the same, is the movement as quick as it was on MGO2 no changing direction complete opposite takes more time and crouching from standing too there is no side roll no diagonal roll no back hop no more rolling into prone and it seems like everyone has knock out with one throw CQC although I wont call it CQC EX as it's not in other ways it doesn't auto counter lower levels of CQC it doesn't disarm and it don't choke people out in one second it just knocks people out one throw. The autoaim feature is not like it was in MGO2 it is a much more powerful thing in ground zeros atleast I'm not sure if it will be the same in the phantom pain but most fo the game seems to be based on it maybe it will stop them dancing try be as random as you can while popping for headshots contacts that became such a big part of MGO2 play although I belive it to be not as big a bad thing it made things a bit rediculous at times but I'm not very supportive of auto aim features in online games I like the way MGO2 made it a hard thing to kill people with Oh god please no regen health COD + Battlefield noob style I see people complaining about bloody screen + vision loss from being hit but I don't see a problem with it really and I think if you don't like it you need to shoot accurately first like you are supposed to if you got shot for real you have a bit more to worry about than a bit of visual effect to show you are hurt you be in a lot of pain and most likely crippled if not dead or on the floor dying. I don't think the skills be like MGO2 although I find it a shame I think the skills and dress be class based although it's clear there is some customization to dress a bit like battlefield again I find it quite dissapointing I liked the way you could look how you want use whatever skills you have unlocked the way in MGO2 that was awesome SOP was awesome too it gave things so many pros and cons and added to variety near infinately. Maybe I'm talking about what was good in MGO2 and what I miss a bit too much not giving enough actual feedback on what I think about what I've seen of TTP MGO but really we haven't been shown much what I do see is I hate the enemy markers although I can think of ways to play against them being used and even a way to make them work against noobs who rush the marked enemies with a cooprative team I still hate em I hope they get turned off or we can make or select a game mode without them I think the auto aim might make it very difficult to beat people with not much brain but quick reflexes I hope that is turned off or we can make or join modes without it I don't like the way the sniper rifle teleports off the back into the hands same kinda thing with the assualt rifles the movement of those seems way too quick to be possible I liked the way people carried weapons in mgo2 even though many ran about without the weapon in hand to move faster switched to it quick and snap shot then put it away again I found you could actually beat most of those pretty easy with less button presses therefore quicker shooting using your brain and having the weapon already ready but enough about MGO2 even though it's in my top 3 online games ever and actually takes first spot easily dispite it's few flaws but my main concern is it wont be as fun it's a shame game makers don't just stick with what fans loved and improve on that rather than trying to cater to larger fanbases while losing it's existing ones by turning thier backs on them not giving what they loved but better by ironing out all the creases for them perfecting the art it was Instead making it into something more generic changing things that where great and unique into things not so leaving us missing the things they done great before and such I belive most game makers need to learn to be more loyal to thier fanbase because the truth is please them it will please others they must refine and optimize not be generic and simplified as much as possible for the dopey kids that can't brain cos they got the dumb ones P.S reward shop was awesome bring it back please it be much better than exp point unlocks or supply drops/ battlepacks I liked the way I could choose what to have and spend the points I obtained accordingly every liked to work on their appearance it was awesome and while I'm on the subject the presets where awesome for people who liked to be camoulfaged approriately for the map I see some preset changing before the match in the trailer not a bad thing but I also prefer the way the weapons and the presets where seperate drebin point system was awesome it looks gone though ![]() The makers of MGO2 where pure genius in the way they set it up it's few flaws where not a thing to be ashamed of in any way it was the best online game to date in one of if not the best single player games and stories ever actually mgs is the best ever with resident evil (biohazard) second although they never had such an great online mode as mgs did before it went offline and everyone had to get a life ![]() There is nothing wrong with an abilty to say enemy spotted showing the location to your team without you using a microphone there is a a lot wrong with a marker being placed above your head that stays there showing your exact location until you die you should be able to reposition and people not know your exact location Edited by Smokebomb, Jan 12 2015, 08:33:40 PM.

Because we know for a fact that the game will not play anything like it was shown or how its explained its going to work. So yea, ofcourse your going to judge features based on either previous installments or experiences with other games with similar features, and since the devs cant really disclose what it is their actually doing, then we need to voice our disinterest in these things early. Tagging for example, might seem like nothing, but the bino is just as easy to quickly aim as a gun, cause its always going to be the center of the screen that the reticle will be, so you could easily have people quickly tagging people and running away. Features in an online game soynd really good on paper, but people play differently then how the devs have in mind. And text chat is good, it should be a common feature by now. Spamming is not that big an issue to not have it. |

So you guys basically want MGO2 on the Fox Engine? Well, I guess it's fine having a familiar experience, but we need to welcome new stuff too. I don't want just a MGO2 remake. Reward people for playing the objective and for using team-work How many times have you seen this in online games? For the first 5 minutes, everyone is focused and have a clear objective in their heads, but then it quickly turns into a huge clusterfuck of bullets? To avoid from happening in game modes where deathmatch is not the focus, it could help to use a scoring system that encourage people to complete the objective, stick with your teammates and play tactically. Discourage "class stacking" If you absolutely are going to have character classes in MGO3, then make it so that it's hard to win a game if there's too many of one class in a team. Like in Team Fortress 2, any team of 12 players would have a hard time pushing through the defenses if there's 4 Spies composing the team. Not only this will balance the game, but it will also encourage people to learn other classes. Guns can be picked from anywhere, like in single-player In MGO2, if you were able to stay alive after a while you would start to run out of ammo and thus you were forced to head back to respawn to get some more. You COULD steal the enemy's weapon, but you had to stun them and then drag his/her body, which was very risky. So why not have the option to pick weapons on the ground like in single-player mode? With this you don't have to fall back to base and you'll have more options during battle, like if someone recently bought a rocket launcher, but you were able to stealthly take him out, you could use his weapon against his own team. That said, somethings NEED to return like: Free Battle I always thought that this system was mutch better than the standard matchmaking most online games have. This is a MUST. Survival, Tournaments and other competitive game modes Survival was fun if you found a good team (and didn't run into glitchers) and rewarded people with points to buy stuff in the Reward SHop. Bring something like this back. But also help players who are less adept into the game to find a team that fits for them. Customization I don't really need to say much about this one, do I? If I can customize my char just like as or more extensively as I did in MGO2 I'd be happy. Also some other things: Moderate the game, banning cheaters and disrespectful players One thing that nearly killed MGO2 for me was the ridiculosly amount of lagswitchers and glitchers that could be found in almost all competitive games and occasionaly in lobbies too. Please don't abandon the community and give these people the proper treatment they deserve. Don't restrict classes too much If this game absolutely needs to have classes, then you shouldn't limit the gameplay too much. If I'm an "Assault Trooper" I want to be able to sneak around if I have to. If I'm a "Stealth Trooper" I need to be able to be agressive too when my team needs me, and vice versa. |

Well MGO2 was a good game released at a bad time, and didnt have much support when it came to banning cheaters. I still believe if they released mgo2 now or re-released. It would definetly get a bigger player base, thus getting more popular and thus getting konami to support the game more. But that is likely not going to happen. So asking for mgo2 remake isint that unreasonable, considering it did alot of things right. But yea we also need to accept new things that they add, but you also cant find it unreasonable that some are skeptical about say a class system, considering their are many examples of a class system done right, and done wrong, with barely any games like metal gear that have done it. |

I could see this working if there's going to be in-game challenges that give extra GMP for completing - for example marking enemy and having teammate killing them and vice versa. Of course that should also provide per match score bonus but that isn't so useful rewarding in other than draw situations where winner is determined by player with best score (of course that also can be fixed by having winner determined by overall score of team). Usually those in-game challenges should provide something that seriously encourages players to do that. Some games have weapon/item rewards that gives high power weapons/items to use for certain amount of time, so that could work - something like sticking close to teammate for x amount of time during match provides usage of ballistic shield for next round or something like that. |

Personally, I think MGS4 had the best controls out of any MGS including V. They somehow regressed in some gameplay aspects in V. Things overall felt smoother in 4. TPP will hopefully fix the smoothness factor of everything. But hopefully the team brings back some of the things that gave MGS4 gameplay a little extra as seen in the video above. Things that should return /and or change: L1, R1 aim/shoot control option More precise underhand grenade throwing Auto cover sticks to objects when you don't want it to Flip on back and shoot/throw grenades Throw grenades while on ladder Crawling on a roof and then hanging over side shooting down Leaning side to side in 1st person view More CQC options, a turn off cqc cinematic camera option Step back dodge move No sub menus in weapon menu, show all at once Move camera a little further from player (looking around corners feels claustrophobic) and more... I don't see how wanting any of that is asking for an MGO 2 clone. These are aspects that should have never changed. Also MGO 2 did a lot right and definitely would have been more successful if it had better promotion. Konami ID wasn't the issue. Nowadays every almost every online game requires you to log in to some extra account. Well and the lag and glitching was bad. But that's a whole different ball game. you were already rewarded with playing the objective,as it gave you extra rewards in survival and it was required to get the "elite" animal ranks,as your win % did count for them.it's just people in general cared about individual rewards(GP/level) way more than colective ones, for some dumb reason. actually the reason for this was probably because GP was about the only stat in the game that you couldn't either boost(well, maybe you could, but GP booster usually got known pretty damn fast, and no one would take them into their team) or get from playing the game for 10k hours.so people just used it to judge the players individual skill,as they had nothing better to go by.an easy solution to this would be a refinement of the game's point system that rewarded the whole team with maybe 50 points each.this would make it so winning the game was way more important for each player than getting a sick KDR or being first on their team so they could leach GP away, while still rewarding players who did better individually some. i see no faults in such system at all honestly, although maybe 50 points might not be the optimal number(this would need to be tested in-game).this would encourage people to play for the team, even in free battle, while still rewarding people who did a bit better than the rest of their team.what do you guys think? ^ I think 50 GP points would be way too much for each won match lol. I agree though the winning team should all get points. No matter if you get last and go 2-8 on your team, you still get some points no matter what. That could in theory stop complainers as some could go negative on the winning team. And maybe more points by assisting teammates/objective. Possibly something like this: Winning team - 1st on winning team - 10 or 20 points 2nd - 8 pts 3rd - 8 pts 4th - 6 pts 5th - 4 pts 6th - 2 pts Losing team All get negative 10 or so Edited by WaterN-ice, Jan 15 2015, 10:55:37 PM.

mgo2 already had something similar to that.you got 5 points for the win on every mode except for TDM(IIRC,not sure if you didnt get it for some other mode, but im sure you did for most modes).it didn't work and people barely even cared about those 5 points.in fact,i'd say most mgo players didnt even know about them. my conclusion is that the reward for winning team and the punishment for the loosing one needs to be bigger. also i never said 50 gp,i said 50 points,as in 50 points on your score at the end of the round.the GP system was based around the fact that if you got a better place in the ranks(ie a higher score) at the end of the round than someone of equal GP,your gp would go up slightly.same if you got the same place as someone would a higher GP than your own,who would in turn get his gp sacked, etc. by nearly making it so that you could only ever advance on the gp ranks if you were actually winning games against people who are theoretically as good as you, while still somewhat rewarding players who consistently stood out from the rest of the team, you will essentially force people to work as a team.i actually see nothing wrong with this. I always thought the +5 points per player for round win always seemed to make a pretty good difference. Just watching some old MGO2 vids at the end of the round it was always a trend that winning team had majority of players ranked in the top of the lobby just by those 5 points alone. Can't put in too much score or it's a needless inflation. I'd guess 10 points per person might be a good score but I'd need to see how the point system actually is. At 50 points per person the players that really stand out are getting comparatively less recognition if we are going by the MGO2 scale (Because 50 points is a HUGE amount). Just compare a teammate that scores 10 points vs. a teammate that scores 20. Theoretically the 20-point guy was twice as effective but if it's set to 50 points for round wins than it's 60 points vs. 70 which would theoretically only say the 20-point guy was only like 15% more effective. I understand individual scores don't completely reflect the truth as everyone on the team somehow plays a part in the win but setting a relative round win score that high is only going to negatively impact the outstanding players on the winning team while allowing the mediocre players to achieve untruthfully good stats off the success of outstanding players. EDIT: Just want to point out an hour long MGO3 analysis by Yong just uploaded
