Yep, it is.

My perfect control senario for PS4 controls:
- L1R1 switched with L2R2
- Weapon select on the D-pad still a thing but tapping R2 does the same quickchange cycle like MGS4 for the 3 weapon slots. Holding R2 brings up the direction menu.
- L2 to be reserved for the bino function
- the quick-call option can go to hell because it's useless

The radio button probably brings up the codec presets menu.

So in MGO3 we won't be switching weapons like crazy? How do we headshot with the Mk2 and kill with the knife before they hit the ground? I'll miss being a ninja so much.

I can't speak for the X1 controls but I thought for sure they would use the touchpad on PS4 since you can utilize like 2 or 3 different areas on it. We'll see soon enough I guess.

Example:

Press Left side touchpad - Preset Codec messages
Hold Left side touchpad - Text Chat (Hopefully it's back)

Right side could be iDroid
Then Options button brings up leaderboard, other gameplay options

@ JJ

Is there proof they made the new menu just so binoculars and the codec menu had space? Because that sounds like a horrible reason to change it.

What proof would you need, they obviously go with the set up they find best. They need to have the camera adjustments and the sprinting somewhere in the R/L buttons, too, so the weapon and item menus had to make space, since they fit in the directional buttons just fine.
Are you talking about the right thumbstick and left thumbstick? (R/L) How would they have interfered with anything?
With R/L I meant the 1 and 3 buttons. Those four buttons NEED to have the binoculars, sprinting and camera adjustments. Moving items and weapons to the directional buttons is a no-brainer.
Sprint can be used L3. And binoculars should be a directional button. That way weapon selection can be L2 or R2
I prefer having the binocs in the bumpers and the weapons in the directional buttons. The devs seem to agree with me. But I do feel for you, since the weapons and items have always been on the shoulder buttons.
I once wrote something in the shoutbox. This was the response.

What was wrong with the old way of using binos? Nothing there doesn't really need to be a shoulder button just for that alone but there is in TTP, What was wrong with the old way of entering first person view and being able to lean? Nothing! What was wrong with MGS4/MGO2 controls? Nothing! The only real problems MGO had was people cheating having unfair connections on purpose and the teleporting issues but it was the best game on PS3 still and I hate that it got shut down it seems it happens to all my favorite games and the new ones are not as good as the old ones where due to adding things that don't need to be added and ruining what made the last ones great I hate it when that happens it happened with socom it happened with flashpoint and now it's happening with MGS don't need a whole button for binos they where fine as being one of the items in the item menu it's been L2 items R2 weapons MGS1, MGS2, MGS3, MGS4 and MGSPW and they just change a perfectly well functioning system that has worked well for years like it makes it better somehow URGH!

Why did they change the voice actor for Snake too? :(

TL;DR version: I hate the changes!

It would be nice if they don't put a Region Block this time. Yeah, some games will get laggy, but I'll gladly take that instead of not playing with people from all over the world.

There was nothing wrong with the way it has been for years the only change I like is the addition of bullet drop.

At the end of the main mission in Ground zeros it says to be continued in Outer heaven is this game instead of outer heaven or is that gonna be the next one?

i actually dont mind either way of using binos, but i do hope they keep the L1 aim/R1 shoot thing on TPP,or at least allow us to customize it on the game settings.

I dont mind the current controls, but there SHOULD be the option to change it, not everyone is going to be confortable w the controls, so they should be able to change it to how they like.

And this is the same shit that happens to games like wwe2k15, they take out alot of features or restrict most of them for no reason at all, it does not improve the game at all, streamlining is fine but when its taken to the point where it restricts what the player can do, its going to far.

We all know that almost everybody wants text chat to be brought back in MGO 3. Not only should text chat return, but it should include the options that MGO 2 had, namely: 'Team' chat, 'All' chat and a 'mute' player chat function.

Please make it possible to play with people around the world, especially with people from Japan.

So no Region Lock please but in the same time power up your servers to avoid lag and connections errors.

i honestly do not care.and there is no such mechanism that allows you to play with people from, say, australia without there being lag(not to say mgo didn't have a lot of connection based issues that COULD have been easily addressed, but this was not one of them).

as long as the player base on each server is big enough to have a full lobby of different modes being hosted, and us not facing the same teams over and over again in survival,i don't think a region lock will make a difference.plus the language barrier would probably piss off japanese and korean people.

I'm not one in favour of no region locks. I've played games that didn't have it and it's really annoying to have your screen being spammed by cyrillic or asian characters, not to mention voice chat.

That's why there's usually options to mute voice chat - even if there isn't, you can always use the easy method of putting your headset in to console and muting the voice that way. It useful but it depends what gamemodes you play.

What's up with all the Kojima avatars? lol

But yeah, no Region Lock. I'm Brazilian and I want to play with a certain Scottish person here.

Also please change Sneaking Mode a bit. I'm not sure how SNE was in MGO1, but in MGO2 SNE felt like a TDM with Snake in it, and the problem with that was that after you got used to it and/or if the player sneaking wasn't particulary good at the game, Snake would become nothing but a minor nuisance. It should be balanced more so that there's tension for all players, even if Snake isn't a good player.

I completely agree. Sne in mgo2 while it was good, snake needed alittle bit of help to survive alittle more, in mgo1 snake couldnt be locked on or killed in one shot if shot in the head, in mgo2 it was the opposite, snake was just treated as a regular player that could be invisble.
Especially if you didnt master the mode and how it worked it was very hard for players to get into, i feel the mgo1 style of tsne will return, considering since mgo1 tsne was tailored to how camo worked in mgs3 i feel it will work more or less the same for tpp.

i actually think the only times it was really hard for snake to win were either in overly crowded rooms(which sucked overall anyway due to lag) and when the host was stupid and only gave him one life.

in standard 3 life SNE chaff grenades, together with lying down(to achieve invisibility) and hold ups with mk2 made it really easy to get dogtags.
