GUYS -- more great feedback from Kojima Productions L.A.! The L.A. Studio responded to my tweet linking this thread and here is the response: MGOFeedback @MGOFeedback 8h8 hours ago @MetalGearOnline Two questions from the community: 1) Are there Free Lobby servers? 2) Are character creation names linked to PSN-ID? Metal Gear Online @MetalGearOnline 4h4 hours ago @MGOFeedback can't give an answer to that right now MGOFeedback @MGOFeedback 15m15 minutes ago @MetalGearOnline Alright! Thank you for the quick response! Please check out the piling feedback thread here: http://mgsforums.com/topic/7708640/1/?x=0#post9378269 … Metal Gear Online @MetalGearOnline 2m2 minutes ago @MGOFeedback We're reading that thread and also the large MGO discussion thread on the same forums, thanks for the continual feedback! This is great news guys. I love how they are actually reading what we have written and discussed; it looks like they are making an honest effort to listen to the veterans and fans. Cheers! Allright this is not really as much of a feature in the game itself, but would there be a chance that the community also gets to design maps for MGO3? The game comes out on PC anyway, so it would be nice that the users get to play with a creative environment to design their own maps in and submit them for reviewing and possibly be officially implemented in MGO. TF2 also had this, although that game was very moddable overall, and there's been pretty good content that came out of that. It would involve fans even more, and it could also vastly improve the longevity of the game. |

Oh, they are reading this thread. Hi KP LA! *waves* GA-KO and Kerotan are MGO's mascots, they should absolutely return. Also, you guys should disclose more info already so we can give you more feedback before it's too late to change anything. |

They can't if they're restricted to do so by contract ![]() EDIT: It would be nice if animation cancelling made a return. Seriously, this was one of the biggest tactical elements in the game. Faster reloading, lobbing grenades while moving around, cancelling a grenade throw, you name it. Animation cancelling helped a lot in making snap decisions, doing evasive manoevers or quickly changing play tactics. It often meant a split second difference between life and death. I can't count the times I've cursed BF3 and its rigid controls, because the character wouldn't switch weapons fast enough, or not throw a grenade. EDIT EDIT: Fuck, I forgot probably one of the most overlooked but convenient features of MGO2 I'd like to see return: Please have the black list/friends list make a return This was such a convenient feature. It allowed to see in which games there were either people you know/like, or people you can't possibly stand. It also allowed to "mark" cheaters/glitchers and helped in avoiding them. Unfortunately the lists in MGO2 were rather short, 64 entries if I'm not mistaken. Doubling that, or maybe quadrupling that (gotta take game popularity into account) would probably be sufficient. A lot of people (including myself) have requested that old features from MGO 2 make a return. How about some new ideas too? I would like to see new skills, for example, a medic skill with 3 levels; the higher the level the faster the healing speed. Maybe the max medic skill allows a player to revive a fallen teammate so that they respawn next to you but still lose the ticket. It would be quite strategic too because reviving/healing could give your team the upper hand in situations or make you vulnerable to an enemy attack! Don't be afraid to share new ideas because other people might not agree with it! |

Obviously health bars would need to make a comeback for the medic skill to work. Non-regenerating health results in more strategizing, IMO.

I also had this idea for a "spy" mode once. It can either play out like this: Each team has one player that's cloaked, with non-lethal weapons, and that player needs to recover a target and bring it back to their goal. The other players are not cloaked and have lethal weapons equipped. Only the spies can recover the targets and bring it back to the goal. The game ends when either a target has been returned, or any spy has been killed, or all members of the opposing team are dead. This is a one-life mode. Or like this: One team has one spy, which is cloaked, and they must protect him so he can steal the goal from the other team. But that spy can only be spotted by the counter-spy, who is NOT cloaked. Only the spy can steal the object and return it to the goal. The game ends when either the target has been returned to the goal, or the spy has been killed, or all members of the defending team. Also a one-life mode. Kinda like a mix between TSNE, SNE and RES. |

Just to emphasize what a few others have said, it be would be nice to see the side roll and back step return. I also think you should be able to do a 180 degree spin in MGO 3 as quickly as you could in MGO 2, even if you can only do it when you are not sprinting.

Cool idea! I really do hope we see a lot of new modes. I see so much potential in MGO 3! I also want to see some modes that encourage non-lethal play! FYI, MGO Japan had a non-lethal survival event. I want to see lots of events for all regions! |

I would like to see r1 and r2 shoot buttons. L1 and l2 weapons. It really allowed for quick weapon changes. I would also like to control the camera when cqc slamming so that when executed the screen doesn't take it's own posistion makin me readjust. |

I'm unfamiliar with GZ's aiming system, but MGS4's control scheme was by far the most conveniently mapped scheme I've seen in a game. The controls were very ergonomic and fluid, and it was also pretty hard to fuck up once you got used to them. |

Even if it's obviously not going to be a feature in the solo (MGSV), I strongly believe they need to bring back the stamina mechanics and everything related in MGO3 : Stamina bar, stamina damage, how stamina would affect aim steadiness, waking up mechanics and the like. ![]() Stamina was central to the non lethal playstyle in MGO2, scrapping it will make MGO3 inferior to its predecessor no matter how hard they bring back/emulate everything else from MGO2. I'm sure MGO2 vets would agree. We need to have stamina mechanics in MGO3 in one form or another. We need to have a system that tracks down how close/far a player is to getting stunned/KOed, whether it's a jauge or anything else, I don't care We need to have the aim influenced by the character's condition We need to be able to wake up teammates without having to kick them down (bring back the patting please) ![]() CQC needs to affect stamina depending on the moves and not being a 1hit KO like in the solo, MGO2's CQC had depth because of the stamina mechanics. Right now in MGO3 it feels as if every player had CQC EX. In short, we need the non lethal game to have depth. This really is my only request to KojiPro LA, as I feel everything else they showed seems on par with what most of the MGO lovers expect the experience to be like, whether it's stuff they outright brought back or stuff they changed to fit MGSV's universe more while keeping the concept untouched (SOP > Marking). Body Mechanics - MGO2 had extremely poor body mechanics, which many people mistook for lag because it caused player teleportation (something as simple as rolling, or being hit by a grenade could trigger this). This is something to completely prevent from happening in MGO3. Check out this video for a full analysis of the poor body mechanics. Edited by Solidus Reborn, Dec 23 2014, 01:26:22 AM.

Yeah that's the infamous animation lag people addressed before. However, I think some of that was fixed in 1.36. I can't recall ever being grabbed by someone on a lower ledge, nor have I seen it happen. I have seen people drop down off a ledge and pop back up again though. But it definetely was something that drove the community insane, and didn't contribute to MGO's longevity at all. |

What about a mode with more than 2 teams? I was thinking of something with 3 different teams of 4 or 5 players, or possibly 4 teams with 4 players, to focus on close fire-team tactical play. I know games have done more than 2 opposing teams before, I just think it might be an interesting dynamic to bring in and shake things up from the standard free-for-all and two team modes in every online game. |

Clan Features (emblems and more): - Keeping the ability to be able to customize a clan emblem would be lovely. In addition, if this emblem can somehow be pasted onto the character (i.e. - on the shoulder armor like Big Boss, on our weapons, our gear; etc) that would be awesome! - Perhaps, if its not already in the works, clans can build their own Mother Bases with their GMP from winning matches. This could be expanded on where clans can invade other clans' Mother Bases. Mother Bases could also act as a social hub for clan members. Training Rooms - Creating an option for players to create their own private room with moving targets would be beneficial. Players can try out different weapons and practice their shooting skills! Considering that this is a whole new engine, there's a good chance this won't happen much anymore. If at all. ----------------------- Identification Please, please please have something like Konami ID so we don't have to use our PSN IDs! I really want to get back in touch with some old friends from MGO2! Perhaps we could use our old Konami IDs if we remembered? We could have a veteran badge of sorts. Gestures Saluting and gestures would be great to bring back as well. Remastered Maps And, I know it may be too much for right now, but could you release remastered maps from the previous installations sometime in the future? I want Groznj Grad again. |
