I'm so happy that KPLA choosed 6vs6 8vs8 close combat style on limited maps with a little bit high tech here and there for the right balance. Glad kojima allowed them to make MGO not open world (Sandbox stealth) as the singleplayer.

Nice one KPLA :thumb:

6v6 worked better on smaller maps, like A.A and B.B.
8v8 was good, but good was it hectic, and for a game thats supposed to focus on "stealth" and "teamwork" having the game be hectic would not achieve that.

Vanilla Coke is better. I'm the shite one.

Another advantage of class-based multiplayer is that it forces teamwork. Not everyone in the game will have stealth camouflage capability while others might not have access to heavy weapons. This kind of limitation of player choice will foster teamwork. While MGO2 had some pretty good ideas regarding teamwork, it just never happened. People would pursue their own path across the map and accrue headshots themselves. That was the main form of gameplay, at least for the skilled players. Very little interaction was needed because of how powerful an individual player could be.

Forcing teamwork doesnt always end up with people working together, infact you see less actual teamwork and more "playing their role"
The medic and heavy in tf2 is a perfect example, not everyone plays as medic, because his main purpose is to heal, hes just doing what hes supposed to do, if the medic doesnt do his job then whats the point of having him there.
Forced teamwork isnt always a guaranteed thing, withought the medic healing the heavy, he wont survive much when he lays down fire, and withought the heavy taking all the agro, the medic will be targeted because the other knows he can heal.

In battlefield, medics barely revive, supports rarely give ammo, snipers barely spot, engineers dont repair, unless its their own vehicle.

If your on the team thats has all this, good luck communicating with them, because they aint gonna listen, and just to piss you off they will just goof off even more.

The point is, a class system, depends on everyone to be competent, if their not, the whole system serves no point and shouldnt even be there in the first place.

I corresponded with KPLA recently, and they said that there has been no plan to shut down servers of MGO3, and that there is still work to do before launch.

It just seems like logical thing todo for a studio like this, and with alot of fans being skeptical a beta seems like a logical step.

It's not confirmed but it would be a huge mistake if they Don't release a beta. Plus, the whole "feedback" thing is just nonsense without a playable demo/beta

Well there was the "Playable feedback" tweet and the picture showing the ps4 dashboard with mgo as a standalone game, probably the beta integration. Also over 5 months left for launch, alot of time to gain "better" feedback by releasing a beta.

But i wouldn't be surprised if they skip the open beta and just make a closed beta for the inhouse testers at LA.

E3 should give us some answers on that subject i guess.

I think it would be huge mistake to not do a beta. This might be last mgo for awhile and the fans should be able to play and let the devs know what needs tweaking or changing before release.

Another reply to our MGO3 Feedback twitter account:

[to] MetalGearOnline Is interrogation in MGO the adaption of the scan ability in MGO2?

[to] MGOFeedback to some extent, but it's highly dependent on mode

[to] MetalGearOnline Okay! Is it a stretch to say that depending on the objective, you get different types of information?

*still awaiting a reply on the last one...

What do you guys think of this?

i find it a very interesting concept and i'm glad we'll have something similar to the scan, but i still need to see how it's implemented. We deserve a new trailer already :D

This!

I won't even go as far as a trailer, how about just some actual information before the next E3. They could at least shed some light on the XP system, or how about a screen shot or two. Maybe something on the character load out screen? I would just like to see something with actual INFORMATION, rather than the "we are not ready to comment on that yet" generic answer to every question we have. There is soooo much that we're still left in the dark about, there has to be something the development team can comment on.

Yea I dont like teamwork stuff. Give me a gun n let me do my thing. I wouldnt mind 10v10. Especially since these maps may be a bit larger

Team Fortress is FPV only, right? So I don't see that happening.
I once wrote something in the shoutbox. This was the response.
