Who's afraid of the big bad June 9th; A flood of The Phantom Pain preview information will be released

I presume most of us are aware of the preview event recently for The Phantom Pain. They've already tweeted details but I think come June 9th when the media is allowed to talk about it - releasing a flood of information. I believe the people at the event only played about 10-12 missions of the first chapter, but even from a few details from the tweets I've heard... I sort of don't want to see any more on the game.

So is this the genuine cut off point? The time to pack your bags and hide in the shelter avoiding all things MGS5?

I'd welcome maybe one more e3 trailer, but to be honest, will it make a difference? I am already buying this game day one and cannot wait to devour it! So I think before the media exposes too much of the gameplay, I'm going to head for the hills. Curious to how other people feel on the matter, will you embrace the detail or hide away too?

while spoilers suck the main thing is that all these previews will make the wait feel even longer, reading about all the cool locations in afghanistan, the size of the bases, the new weaponry, the weapon customization, the animals, the varying tactics that each previewer decided to take, etc, is just going to stir up even more daydreams than i already have about playing this game

I'll keep coming
I think this is the cut off point for me. I pre-ordered MGSV the day we got a release date. I'm already sold on the game so why am I still compelled to know every little detail about it? Even if the info we get doesn't contain any story details I'd much rather be surprised about everything else. I wanna play the game and go "oh cool", not "yeah, just like they said it was".

I personally torned between knowing it all and discovering.

Sure the later is the best option but it's really hard to resist.

I was really sure i did not want to know anything, but when i read the tweets about the first mission, i was so exited.

So Yeah, self control is the way.

Scared. A boss battle was revealed (though admittedly, no context) with the hour-long embargo lift, and so I would have to imagine with a full cover story type of article, much more could be revealed (whether it be plot points or anything else). As long as things don't have any context, it's fine, I guess. But if they were to say, "Take (this particular route), find a Will Smith mixtape, and have a mech battle with Huey," then yeah, I would be pretty upset!

My goal will be to stay away from anything that doesn't come from official channels (Koji Pro). I am expecting plenty of new screens - as well as new footage (some from June 9th/16th, some from E3), so I still haven't decided but I will probably cave!

This!

I'm focused more on the multiplayer and don't care about spoilers in terms of story and gameplay elements.

Give it to me

I'm not gonna let someone who enjoyed the first time he experienced the game to ruin my experience. Especially, when some of them jackasses promised spoilers.

All the previews are going to be the same basically just like they were for Ground Zeroes. Same video footage from every news source and everybody saying the same thing. Im really not going to try and fight the urge to peek. I will when the street date breaks in August.

I'll pass on new info (hopefully). I will watch a new trailer at E3 though.

I haven't been paying attention to any information regarding this game for a while now. When I play the game for the first time it will all be 100% new to me with only the exception of that first mission in Afghanistan where you find intel on Kaz's location.

So no, I couldn't care less about June 9th.

I'm torn between not wanting to spoil anything and being unable to resist the wait. Even if you don't see the previews though, I'm pretty sure some spoilers would reach you from June 9th to Sep 1st from just being on the internet (unless you completely stay away from anything metal gear).

You stop right fucking there and apologies Infiltrator . CIA is many things; a has been meme master, a baneposter who ran it to the ground so bad to where it stopped being funny, a complete and utter podcast tsundere but I will NOT allow you to call him a shitty Gary Stu who killed a 7 part book series. That's just mean and unfair.

Sorry if I sound angry but this was too much, even with the strike in mind.

I don't discuss MGSV on other message boards anymore (/vg/, neogaf) and i'm already directed to the TPP chat topic here so i don't have to go through the whole forum. Plus i downloaded all the TPP trailers so i don't get spoiled via youtube by accident.

I've waited too long to get spoiled by some chucklefuck. If i get spoiled i'm spoiling myself and that is not happening.
PEACE will come.

GOOD NEWS! No spoilers, guys:

Keep your eyes peeled on and around June 9th either way - just because the press are restricted from talking about story details in their previews, that doesn't mean a few convenient 'leaks' won't happen.

Spoilers doesn't just relate to story in my opinion.

Locations/Areas
Mission Details
Weapons and Gadgets
Misc. Features

A lot of these are more special and surprising when you discover them on your own, instead of through a journalist's words.

So yes, OP, I'm cautious of the info drop at June. I need to fight my curiosity to read the info or watch the trailer(s).

Not afraid, because those ten or twelve minutes they got to play won't reveal too much anyway. And no story info apparently so great!

True, but it's dependent on the individual, I guess. I'm not too bothered about weapons and gadgets being spoiled, but, yeah, certain mission objectives and details might be where I have to draw the line, especially if it's something that could come as a big surprise for fans.
