Can't wait to get the collectors edition. Not even going to open it until I've completed the game a few times. Blind play throughs are the best but considering all the different ways to play and all the content in the game it's nice to have a little insight on all the hidden gems and secrets that you're bound to miss the first few times through the game as well all The possibilities for infiltration. Not to mention the shinkawa lithograph and all the other little art bonus content. I didn't find out about the cardboard box truck shortcut in mgs1 till MGS3 was announced and I played the first 2 in preparation lol I sincerely believe this game will be the greatest of all time. Can't wait. The hype is real |

Coming from a guy who hasn't used a strategy guide since The Godfather 2, do you guys find these guides useful? How do you use them? Me personally I like to find all the small things myself. But that kinda defeats the purpose of the guides. Right? |

I used them when I was younger but not so much these days. If I use a guide, it's usually to help me find collectibles/items/secrets that are easy to miss or difficult to find. I will buy this just because it looks gorgeous and so I'll have a memorabilia of the last MGS. Both versions are slick as fuk! |

For me it's more like a well-designed manual/instruction booklet. If I like the art in it and how all the information is presented, then I will keep it unless I sell the game, even if I never use the guide for help. Over 10 years ago, I still remember some great Nintendo game instruction booklets like the mario games, zelda games, etc. All of them had great art and text. |

I buy the guides for games just so I can sniff them. Oh that heavenly 'new book' smell *looks from side to side nervously* Just me then? Never mind. In all seriousness, sometimes the layout of a guide makes them really useful. Elevated, top down views of a map with each item location shown and thinking, 'Damn, no wonder I couldn't find the Solid Snake MGS1 sneaking suite... It's hidden at the bottom of that underwater chasm/under that rock/in that porter cabin' etc. The art can be thing of beauity too; rendered in game characters models looking as good as they possibly can or art done specially for the guide. As far as how I use it, I'll play the game blind to begin with. Unless there's perhaps a ridiculously difficult/confusing boss to beat and I'm missing the trick to defeat it, then I might grab the guide... Might, but it is a last resort. Once I beat the game I'll probably look through the guide for every single hidden treasure there is! I'm more excited about the guide than the game! (Not really, but I do love me a sexy guide) Edited by Skoots, Jun 9 2015, 12:48:10 PM.

I've been waiting for this! I love a nice hardback strategy guide to go along with a new release. I flick through when I'm done with the game, and don't know if I've ever used one to complete a games story, but man, I just love having them, you know? I've got all the Zelda ones including Hyrule Warriors and Hyrule Historia, so my book collection looks slick as all hell. Metal Gear is a definite welcome addition to it! |

You can't beat it. The smell is great, but the main reason I buy guides is simply to own them. I do love the smell of a new game fresh out of the cellophane! |

I plan on collecting for this game. Namely, the soundtrack, the collector's edition, the 1:1 scale arm(assuming it comes to the West), and now the Collector's Edition Guide. I'm so pumped for this game, and it's less than three months away! |

Man i got all that, minus the LE PS4 ...just couldn't bring myself to drop $700 on a system I've already got. I've got the LE MGS4 PS3 and it's dropped in value considerably over the past year, so i'm just wait a few years and grab one. I'm wanting to get one of those and put the LE Ground Zeros HDD cover plate on it, that'd be cool. The watch is pretty badass too, but it's as much as the system.

He is referring to the Collector's Edition version of the game. Not the special PS4. I wish there were more units of the CE (game not guide) in stock. =/ Edited by WaterN-ice, Jun 30 2015, 07:54:27 AM.

Are you living in the country you're ordering from? i.e. An American ordering from Amazon.com or a Brit ordering from Amazon.co.uk Either way I suppose that's not too bad since most people will probably want to play through the story once before going back for collectibles etc. which will be made easier with the guide |
