no, in the new system if they see you, you go into slow motion and have to shoot them, and you can turn that off. right after you can't shoot them everyone in the entire base automatically knows you're there. yes cause that makes so much sense. they don't even pull out there radio anymore. |

It's not open world, you only have more freedom more open options to play a mission in a sandbox stealth environment. I'm glad Kojima choosed this way, i don't want a watch dog or gta open world for mgs. |

Yes it makes sense because when they yell for help everybody knows to go to that location then they call for backup from other outpost. I admit it needed to be balanced and looked ridiculous in GZ because that was a big ass base but TPP will have smaller outposts.
It is open world in the sense where you can explore the whole map but it isn't in a social environment like those games. |

of course, but im pretty sure its still where everyone knows automatically. it would be cool if they heard him yell and came to investigate but not them all know his exact location and that hes there right away. it would also be cool if you could silence the guard before he calls help with out the whole slow motion thing. i personally don't like the whole slowmo thing. |

You can you've just got to be really quick Unless you're in CQC range or already have your sights on him it's pretty hard though.

Have you not read any previews? They radio other bases for backup and you can stop this by destroying their communications. |

i know about that, what i really meant was i don't like how all of them in the base know you're automatically there. idk i still like the old metal gears. hopefully this one will bring some nostalgia. Edited by kuwabarra-kuwabarra, Jun 10 2015, 10:34:44 PM.

The system worked back then due to the shooting mechanics. Stopping an alarm would be too easy with the new shooting mechanics. |

I've never seen the problem, it's merely cosmetic. If you get spotted and they shout out, people are going to hear. So what if it alerts someone across the base? Before they get near you the alert would have already ended. And people in ear shot would have called it in anyway, people you couldn't have neutralized even if they could radio it in. |

I can see where kuwabarra^2 is coming from. I thought it was weird in GZ if I was late to neutralize a guy, the entire base would know where I was, just with the guard yipping when I poked around a cactus. Guards going for a panic button on their radios would have been a nice touch, but beggars can't be choosers. |

It's free roam. You can freely travel anywhere you want. When you enter an area that has an active mission or completed mission, it gives you an option to play the mission or replay the mission but you dont need to. As you free roam you'll automatically come across sideops (similar to TLOTR: shadow of morder, where you automatically get drawn into a boss battle but even in that game you dont have to fight the boss) which you can either do or leave. Thats what I got from the previews anyway |
