^yeah that move is pretty sick. King of CQC dominates all.

Hey guys, is the song from the trailer available somewhere to listen to in full by chance?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3LY3ftiLqmE

17 minutes of it, yes.
That music is so dark and 80'sh. First Nuclear then this... how can Kojima pick so well the music to his trailers theme? Incredible, this single music itself transmits emotions.

I wouldn't be surprised if we have to decide what's real or phantom. Honestly, this trailer has literally wiped the slate clean on everything we predicted. Apart for maybe the BB & SF team-up. Paz's return as I predicted seems to be in the mix as well.

I think at this stage it does seem that BB and SF are a sort of mirror image. That shot especially where SF is staring an inverted BB down best captures this. They share an uncanny resemblence. Hence why the mirror was also in the room where BB listens to the tape. As if SF's story captures BB's life. It is a fair assumption to believe SF is merely a figment of BB's mind. Perhaps because BB didn't have the guts to identify himself with such a dark character or admit his own moral demise (smashing the mirror).

Now what we need to understand from here is how SF interacts with other characters e.g Huey. Which is in no way an easy feat. I'm thinking rather than a mere hallucination. SF is a spirit, representing the duality of BB. Not to say BB doesn't really turn evil. But, rather that SF is some sort of uncanny physical construct created by BB's mind to aid his process of coping with evil.

Perhaps SF is someone raised from the dead? I think Code Talker will have a lot to do with this spiritual issue of BB. But I think it's noticeably present. That somehow BB and SF are related spiritually in an abnormal way.

Hmm, I like your way of thinking. In GZ during the Glaz and Palitz sideop, one of them revels to Big Boss when interrogated that "you're a phantom too..." or something along those lines. This immediately draws a parallel between Big Boss and Skullface as being the two phantoms. Whether Skullface is real or just a figment of Big Boss' imagination is uncertain, but it is certain that both identities share the same inner spirit/energy. Others who meet the two can feel/sense the resemblance.

Maybe it has to do with The Boss, but I can't get Zero out of mind as being the bridge between the phantoms.

Edit: I'm too tired, I shouldn't be coming up with new theories now, aha.

literally, the only way skull face can be a figment of kiefersnake's imagination is if gz never happened. and i don't just mean the mission, i mean everything at camp omega.

skull face had a physical presence that was noted by everyone there:

paz said something along the lines of, "you won't be able to hide that hideous face!" and then of course, the actual marines periodically mentioning skull face, talking about his weapons, his appearance, and that particular marine who said, "and what about their commander? you didn't need an up close look to know that was no mask..."

i stand by the notion that skull face is a completely real person and his backstory is his, but that he truly does mirror big boss in a lot of ways and reflex similar ideals. skull face's final line in the trailer about eternal conflict making the world whole sounds like something straight from kiefersnake's mouth hole. i figure that's just him seeing skull face, knowing he's in his head, or even just realizing he owes the metal gear to skull face. that memorial idea was interesting too, especially if kiefersnake has it, knowing what skull face has done to him.

but i just don't see how what happened in gz can be fiction, and if it isn't fiction, then skull face had a physical presence here.

which means i won't be robbed of a boss fight with him, god willing.

i know you posted this a long time ago, but no, kojima already confirmed we have traditional boss fights, and so far, we know that includes the skulls and pyro-volgin.

in fact, vehicles have been demoted to 'advanced enemies' and not actual bosses, so huzzah, i say.

I too believe Skullface to be real. The only way I can see GZ not happening in reality, or as it actually happened, is if GZ is just a dream scenario played out while Big Boss is in the coma.

Outer Heaven will either be founded co-operatively by Skullface and Big Boss, or Skullface's ideals lend heavily towards Big Boss' creation of Outer Heaven. This much is certain.

Couldn't Paz's appearance be a flashback before the events in GZ? Like shortly after being rescued by a fisherman?

Not with those scars on the stomach. I think that was her body, the top was barely seen but it was left covered as if it was a woman's body, looked like the same location from when we see Paz's face in the trailer.

Not for any nation. Not for any ideology. Not for justice. Not for honor. Not for power. Not for the future. Not for love. Not for peace. ONLY FOR REVENGE.

no, because kiefersnake had his robot hand and demon horn in that scene. i know some could argue that the two scenes are separate with the scar on her bloodied stomach and her seeming dazed, but the mere fact that she had a body left to find after exploding would suggest otherwise.

It has to be a hallucination or a clone (The fact that they show the AI Pod from peace walker makes me guess they have a copy of her consciousness and then they clone her body :P ).

Hard for hallucination if Ocelot is right besides him, if you ask me.

Clone? Maybe. But that doesn't explain the V-shaped stitches.

One of my theories before was that big boss has an angel on his shoulder and a devil. So Ishmael and Skull face. If they are both hallucinations.

In the trailer, someone is describing Skull face or maybe it's skull face talking about himself(can't remember) but he says his leader changes and so does he. And we see different big bosses. I think it's safe to say, wether skull face is real or not, that he becomes big bosses new mentor. And this is what leads him down the dark path.

Yes its fairly spoiler heavy. Anyone who is telling you otherwise is lying or has a very high standard for what can be considered spoilers.

People say it asks more questions than it answers, but there are still tidbits that are inherently spoilers even if one is confused about the implications of what one is seeing/hearing.

I was on the fence about watching, but couldn't resist. I don't regret watching it, but then I'm not the type of person to feel regret.

Skull Face at 3:58

Skull Face

With this, I rid the world of infestation. Sans lingua franca, the world will be torn asunder. And then, it shall be free.

Sans = without
Lingua franca = a language that is adopted as a common language between speakers whose native languages are different. A bridge language.

Zero sounds like he is seeking to overcome language and cultural barriers. Skull Face is opposing his efforts. So when he is talking about "with this, I rid the world of infestation", he is referencing his actions to try and ruin Zero's efforts.

Without a language or means to patch the confusions between different languages/cultures (Lingua franca, whatever Zero is doing), then the cycle of revenge will continue ridding the world of infestation. The 'infestation' he is talking about is the human race. Skull Face has a very twisted notion of freedom. When he says liberty, think something else. If Skull Face told you he was going to liberate you, you would fucking run screaming.
Skully is definitely the irreparably mentally and physically scarred misanthropic/nihilistic torturing son of a bitch this series has needed for quite some time.

Yet his voice is so soothing.
