If this has already been posted, I apologize in advance. I was listening to the song "Not Your Kind of People" by Garbage from one of the MGSV trailers when I suddenly had an epiphany. Kojima is a very meticulous person, and everything he does, especially in regards to marketing, is very much intentional. Having said that, I now believe he may intentionally and subtley given us significant details of the plot of MGSV through that song. Let me break down the lyrics of "Not Your Kind of People" by bolding parts that now seem, to me, insanely significant, especially in light of what we now know: We are not your kind of people. You seem kind of phoney. Everything's a lie. We are not your kind of people. Something in your makeup. Don't see eye to eye. Is this an allusion to the events of Ground Zeroes/The Phantom Pain being an illusion, or perhaps even Big Boss or Skull Face being illusionary/hallucinary? We are not your kind of people. Don't want to be like you. Ever in our lives. We are not your kind of people. We fight when you start talking. There's nothing but white noise. A reference to Big Boss's self loathing or desire to not be like Zero? A reference to Zero's and/or Skull Face's plan involving language? Running around trying to fit in, Wanting to be loved. It doesn't take much. For someone to shut you down. When you build a shell, Build an army in your mind. You can't sit still. And you don't like hanging round the crowd. They don't understand. This is very intriguing to me. Is this an allusion to a spy within Diamond Dogs or Cipher? Is this also an allusion to Big Boss alienating himself from others? You dropped by as I was sleeping. You came to see the whole commotion. And when I woke I started laughing. The jokes on me for not believing. This is by far the most interesting lyrics of the song. To me, this is a direct reference to Les Enfants Terribles from Big Boss's perspective. We are not your kind of people. Speak a different language. We see through your lies. We are not your kind of people. Won't be cast as demons, Creatures you despise. Is this a reference to Zero's plan to weaponize language? Is this an allusion to Big Boss's and Kaz's efforts to cast aside any propaganda being directed at them and Diamond Dogs from Cipher? We are extraordinary people. We are extraordinary people. We are extraordinary people. We are extraordinary people. So, what does everyone think? Do the lyrics of this song reveal more info about MGSV's plot? That song basically sums up what we know about BB - someone who is trying fit in and find a purpose. Nothing too major... |

A fair reading into the lyrics Many people have said this within all the trailers we've seen. But just think of this. Metal Gear Solid V The Phantom Pain... will have an ending... can you even comprehend what will happen? That thought alone leads me to believe there will be so much story in The Phantom Pain to uncover. I mean just think of the conclusion to MGS4. There wasn't even a hint of that pre-release and they way they played with the credits prior to the ending was just a great use of the medium. So do not despair, there is still so much to unfold... in only 2 months!

Yeah, that's not so much spoiling a game as much as it is using a piece of music which is thematically linked to the project you're doing. Makes more sense than just using any old song. |

I saw a recent teaser trailer of The Phantom Pain and I'm going to assume the story includes Les Enfant Terribles. I doubt it give away too much and you really can't say too much either. The story might be different from what we see in all of them. |
