I can't help but think that everyone on these forums, the MGS fanbase at large, videogame journalists, and even the entire world is being massively trolled by Kojima right now. I don't just mean in terms of how MGSV is being marketed, but what's been shown of MGSV, the controversies involving Kojima and Konami, Kojima and Canavero, the loss of David Hayter, etc. etc. I really am starting to believe that everything we've been told and shown for MGSV, including all these controversies, are all lies. Carefully constructed lies meant to misdirect and ultimately troll all of us, in a way never before seen in the videogame industry. It wouldn't be the first time Kojima has trolled everyone before. MGS2 was a massive troll in and of itself, as it was marketed that Solid Snake was the sole protagonist, yet what do we find after the tanker chapter? Raiden. Raiden. Raiden. Hell, when MGSV was first revealed, that was a troll. The Phantom Pain from Moby Dick Game Studios. Moby dick Game Studios. And it was presented by "Joakim Mogren." What does everyone think? Is Kojima trolling us? Is everything about MGSV a lie? Is it the biggest deception in the history of the medium? Or is it all true? Edited by OMG_Its_Grayfox, Jun 21 2015, 02:16:22 AM.

I don't think the Kojima leaving Konami thing is a troll. That shit impacted Konami's shares. No way would a company take such a massive risk just for a troll. If anything, I think Kojima's trolling impacted Konami to the point of annoyance, which led to the severance between the two.

So wait, why would this all be a lie? what is the truth then? The only genuinely big stunt Kojima pulled was MGS2. Everyone always says ''dude its Kojima'' but he always does saner things than the fanbase expects or puts out. |

What's going on between Konami and Kojima is much more serious than a simple "haha got you "LOL OH YOU KOJIMA" ruse. This is stuff that's very serious among investors, there's no way it's a troll. Re: Canavero, again, not stuff you joke about. I'm pretty sure nobody would be impressed if Canavero was trolling about a lawsuit, that'd be pure childish. For David Hayter we have to wait and see, but my instinct is telling me he's not in this game. Kojima gets way too much credit when it comes to trolling... |

We the fans seem to put Kojima's creativity outside gaming or prior to release on an entirely different stratosphere than reality has it. Even with Moby Dick Studios, not only was it pretty blatant trolling, it was quickly discovered within a day and not really hidden well once Tweets stated guys in Moby Dick T-shirts were at a Konami function. But pretty much everything has been fan made hysteria...Kojima's supposed RD shirt, the X-Mas show hints of a RD, the Canavero incident, Konami & Kojima's bad business being fake...all established by our own fandom. And it seems like its solely b/c of the Moby Dick Studios stunt. He generally focuses his twists in his passion and art, which is game development and production. |

Some of it is plausible, but most of it is just fan-fiction of things kojima did/didn't do with the intentions that people are only assuming. The moby dick studios thing was just to cover up the fact that TPP is MGS. Even though it was obvious that it's MGS. It created a huge buzz. The joakim mogren thing is still a mystery to me to this day i can't lie, and i personally think Hayter will have a small role in TPP. Other than that i don't think there's much of a troll going on. I too want there to be a big surprise about the game that has not yet been revealed to us. Something that doesn't include imposters and head transplantations. But over all most of this is just fan-fiction. |

I wouldn't be surprised if some of the things we've been shown so far in the trailers aren't exactly what they same, like for example the two Elis sitting beside each other. It wouldn't surprise me if there's a lot more to that (and a few other things) than meets the eye. But as far as the Konami/Kojima thing goes, and the involvement of David Hayter, I don't think there's anything fake about that. Edited by Webbie, Jun 21 2015, 11:23:54 AM.

THE only reason. THE ONLY REASON why people think there will be a twist or that kojima is "trolling people" is because david hayter was replaced. But no kojima isnt trolling anyone. Konami has lost shares, fan support and western sponsors and has caused people to panic over the phantom pain |

I love conspiracy as much as the next person but I don't for one minute think we are going to unwrap MGSV to find a total different game lol. What I do know is that there will be LOADS of stuff that we haven't seen yet

Most of what you mentioned was done by fans, not Kojima. He hasn't pulled a troll since mgs2. That's 14 years, two console generations, and six games ago. And he had a reason there. |

He has a reason here. Who removed all the Kojima Productions logo? Was it Konami? No, it can't be, because it's back and never made sense in the first place. The last trailer is more than enough for me to prove he did it. |

But the last trailer is literally the only one which doesn't say Kojima Productions on it. Excluding the Moby Dick one obviously. Edited by Jim Houseman, Jun 21 2015, 07:11:41 PM.

The only thing I could call trolling in his marketing up to this date is the Moby Dick thing. Other than that it wouldn't be called trolling as I see it. It's called deceiving the common sense. Two of the same=twins ( while I don't think so). SF walking around with BB means they are allies which I also don't think. At least not to the end and with BB know SF destroyed his MB. I can't think of anything else other than playing with scenes of the trailers which could be a feature of the game itself: dynamic cutscenes to decisions you make. |

Yeah, that's kind of my point. To draw a parallel with the game and the marketing. The trailer is about censorship (back to MGS2). If Konami were the one's removing his name (which they never tried to do, instead they further highlighted it was a Hideo Kojima game) why would they let him make the trailer in the first place and then let him put the logo in? Does anyone really think it's a coincidence that the very next demo magically has the logo complete with the Kojima Productions text? The company may not exist or may not in the near future, but Kojima Productions created this game and everyone knows it. I don't see how they could have removed it or his name from the game? |
