buzz, stealth, smart marketing

a phantom pain for the player, all orchestrated

remember IronLionZion and his theory
Thanks for the reference Falco :)

If you want to look at this current situation through a buzz marketing POV... it would fall under the 6th maxim/button (Secrets).

In the hypothetical model, Konami/possibly Kojima is intentionally keeping everyone in the dark. This in itself creates conversation and buzz surrounding Kojima, Konami, and Metal Gear Solid as a franchise/series.

Push the Secret Button...
Spoiler: click to toggle

It can also be said that this latest incident can tie back into the THEME of my hypothesis, which has found a pattern in LOSS/REMOVAL elements/themes.
I like the way you think.
Not for any nation. Not for any ideology. Not for justice. Not for honor. Not for power. Not for the future. Not for love. Not for peace. ONLY FOR REVENGE.

Why would they do a publicity stunt that would have a negative impact on them? It would be a really dumb move. Kojima is a victim of Konami's rebranding and that is all.
They even cancelled the highly anticipated Silent Hill remake because of Kojima leaving. No, you guys are right they cancelled the game to further market MGSV!!!

That scenario could be possible. But you say Kojima is leaving, yet there is absolutely no hard evidence to support that at this time.

I have discussed many times how the negative publicity would only be a temporary thing if this did turn out to be some sort of ruse. Furthermore, the positive reaction from the media and most of the fanbase would catch the attention of more casual gamers, who might not have originally looked at MGS5 otherwise. This could potentially get record sales numbers if the gamble pays off. This is not as uncommon as you think. It is called Buzz Marketing.

As for P.T. and Silent Hills... their LOSS/REMOVAL also ties in nicely with the THEME of the theoretical model. The THEME was conceived as a result of a repeated observed pattern over a period of time.

Also keep this in mind... The Phantom Pain contains several similarities and references to P.T./Silent Hills. A large part of the beginning of the game reminded many reviewers of P.T.... and this was just the beginning of the game.

I have already noticed some similarities myself based off trailers in both games: the giant hand, the bathroom mirror, the bathtub/shower, big boss kneeling in hallway/someone in Silent Hills kneeling in hallway. All of this is plot related to MGS5, so this was not something thrown in last minute. If anything, this was planned for a LONG time based of current evidence... so there is reason to be suspicious at this time :)

Check out this video for a suspicious viewpoint to the issue at hand, it does bring up some valid reasons to be suspicious, although is it somewhat outdated. Keep in mind that Konami is not going completely mobile and that Metal Gear Solid will continue in the future presumably on console/PC formats:

Here is an article talking about that very thing Rouge:
http://www.metalgearinformer.com/?p=20703

He says that Kojima Productions was forced to disband. This was going to happen one way or another due to restructuring. Mr. Otsuka says nothing beyond that about the situation. If you were looking at this through my hypothetical model, it would classify under the SYMBOLIC COINCIDENCES vs KOJIMA-PLANTED COINCIDENCES of the Taboo Marketing Hypothesis.

Kojima absolutely knew well ahead of time that Kojima Productions was disappearing. Solid proof can be found within Ground Zeroes itself. There is also proof in Ground Zeroes that shows Kojima knew that his name would be removed/missing in the future:

Maybe this whole fiasco was building up for a long time.

Interesting that Kojima tweeted that phrase about LOSS. That is the THEME of my hypothesis (along with MISSING/REMOVED). :)

There is a lot of information out there right now that CONTRADICTS the Kojima/Konami fallout... yet a lot of people are only focused on the information that lean towards negative thoughts/emotions and ignoring the other.

In other words, "Life isn't all about loss" means that one should not focus solely on LOSS, but the other things one sees, hears, and learns around them as well :)

On top of that, Mr. Otsuka isn't really saying anything new at this point. This is old news actually... and once again through unofficial channels. If anything, this is just a REMINDER (i.e. Phantom Pain) of what has been going on lately.

Kojima Productions being reabsorbed into Konami was definitely known about for a while. Which means it can fit very nicely into the Symbolic Coincidences vs Kojima-Planted Coincidences part of my hypothesis. The GZ video above is proof of that :)

Here is a condensed version of my hypothetical model for reference:
