That gets me thinking, what's with the big hype over cqc? Is it proven to be better than other styles? |

My basis to say that Big Boss is better is because he's Big Boss. I could say Big Boss beat The Boss with only CQC, because that was an way to do the fight, and that's how I did it. Same way with Volgin and The End. Boss fights were more open ended in MGS3 so I could play how I wanted. Punches for everyone. Ocelot is a weird case. He's very intelligent and he's able to pick up moves and techniques that he's observed and heard about and implement them on the spot. Kinda like Task Master. Would coming out of one of his multiple comas and beating Snake with a CQC hug count as a feat? Big Boss not only kept using his technique, but continued to develop and instruct in it. He continuously sparred in it with his men to develop their skills. He spent his life with CQC. That's why it's easier for me to say he's better. In Liquid's anger and flair for drama, he fell off Rex. He could've kept going. He was still going until FoxDie. Solid Snake beat Gray Fox in Zanzibar Land. At Shadow Moses, Gray Fox hit his face against the ground and ran away. Solid Snake beat the nanomachines out of Liquid Ocelot. I love Solid Snake as much as the next guy. But to me, a guy who developed, mastered, trained, etc. is better than a guy who was taught it and stopped using it. It's like Bruce Lee VS some kid who had to do Karate in middle school because his mom made him. For one, martial arts was a way of life. The other, he did it, quit it, and put the black belt in his closet and hung out with his otaku friends. Edited by CIA, Jul 12 2015, 02:05:33 PM.

Well, solely based on him co-developing the fighting style and being referred to as "The Greatest Warrior of the 20th Century" I think it's fairly safe to say that Big Boss would be it. Then again, it could simply be that he's more versatile than The Boss and that her "freak power" is her CQC. One could argue that The Boss is better, but Jack was fairly young then and it's hard for me to imagine that he wouldn't continue to hone his skills. Though fuck it. I'll go with Bruce Lee. |
