Or the PC version has better compression than the console versions; hence why it's smaller than the latter.

This isn't how empiricism works. The burden of proof lies on the one whom makes the claim. By your logic, the Flying Spaghetti Monster is just as possible as a "God" since neither can be proven to be impossible. Let's use Occam's Razor in this instance and chose the simplest, and most likely plausibility. This way hype doesn't get the better of us and our hope won't be crushed by a steel mallet.
Like I said before intadem lol stop tagging me in posts. Also your more then welcome to come to your own conclusions even better if you bring evidence to back up your points. Let's just remember what's at stake here my credibility not yours. If I'am wrong and there is no dlc, no chapter 3 I'll be the laughing stock of this entire forum so much so that I'll have to resign my membership and leave out of pure embarrassment.
I didn't tag you in that last post, and tagging is a feature of the forums, if you don't want to be tagged, don't use the forum man. Don't take things so seriously Vaultboy1942
there you go tagging me again lol. Anyhow which ever the outcome I'am sure will be looking back on this laughing are butts off 3 to 4 months from now. Wither it be we get a chapter 3 or not. :)

I really hope we get a chapter 3. While I'm satisfied with TPP as a whole, the story leaves me desiring more. Between the cut episode 51 and the tease of a possible chapter 3, I can see how expectations for more content is high. I surely want more, but I'm not going to expect anything until we get official word. The situation looks grim with Kojima's tenure ending by the end of this year.

Here's my spew of words onto the screen:

Honestly, I find it interesting - just the idea - of speculating on "Phantom Content" - even if there's a lot of questionable coincidences. I'm not saying people are stupid or anything like that. It's just...just in general - don't you all find it odd? Just the whole idea behind all this shit that's going on? Forget MGSV for a moment. There's literally thousands and thousands of pages of people having fun speculating about what may or may not be. The effort it takes for someone to "data-mine" TPP files, to connect dots from information to information. It's incredibly ridiculous, but somehow communal. It's almost as if there's a consciousness building that the theories are better than the context itself. (and no, I'm not bashing TPP's story).

I literally feel confident that I can spend a bit of time putting pieces together, create some fake twitter, put up a shitty website that connects to MGSV juuuuust loosely enough, and viola! Yet another "ruse cruise".

At this point, from an outsider's point of view just reading through alllllllll this speculation (most importantly the whys and hows) it feels more like a Social Experiment than it does anything else. Albeit an unwitting or accidental one. What's crazy is how very divided it is. I hardly see anyone express a grey area and when they do, it's more about them being cautious about getting their hopes up. In the small fraction of TPP's audience, there are people who seriously believe this is all a crazy ruse by Kojima and people who seriously believe that the reality is - this is the game we got, and what is literally announced is what we see and get. It's astounding. Both sides of the argument present some valid points to believe what they believe. This is like the end of Inception, the top is just spinning and spinning - the only difference is - there's no evidence that points to a direct intention to spark this whole speculation and I do not believe Kojima is subtle enough to keep such a thing a secret. However, if I can think of anyone in the gaming industry who would most certainly try - it's him.

Personally, I don't think anything will come of this. But of course I would love to be wrong. It's just so very unnecessary as a point in itself to do. Kojima wants us to feel a "phantom content"? Why? Why would that be cool? I took off a week to play TPP when it launched for the specific reason that I wanted to play experience the game in its entirety and also because I needed a vacation from work. There's a part of me that would get pissed off if there was more content (beyond whatever the nuke thing is) released for shits and giggles because of some sort of meta. I would literally have to call out from work because if it actually happened it would be so big an event in gaming history that I would feel being in the moment would be more important than sitting through an 8 hour shift at work. Because, fanboy. But then again, there's a part of me that thinks that would be incredibly interesting to see it actually come to fruition - because I DON'T believe it will happen.

...But then on the flipside, there's soooooo many unanswered questions. Whether you think it was due to Konami rushing Kojima or whatever - I have never played a Kojima game that literally IGNORES some threads in the same game that OBVIOUSLY brings them up in the first place.

...But I can easily think of a counter to that. Kojima thinks he's savvy. How many times did Kojima tell us about the choice structure of taking on missions/story in our own order and how players would have to piece the story together themselves? Quite a few. So, with the exception of "The Phantom Episode", did he intentionally leave questions unanswered because he thought it would tie with his grand scheme of making us speculate, debate, discuss, and interpret our own ideas on how certain plot and sub-plot elements would come together?

Guess what? I can see Kojima doing that too. Intentionally missing answers to questions with no intention of ever revealing them? Kojima stop being such an asshole man, just sell out and forget being artsy and just give us Solid Snake vs Big Boss in the FOX Engine. Preferably a well thought out final boss fight but a masterfully crafted cutscene will do fine at this point. Can we just start a kickstarter for Kojima to make it happen before the year is up? If not for me, do it for the fans out there staring at your game's files for hours trying to scrap together or if they're really lucky, find some new, irrelevant perception that keeps them on forums like these talking in run-on sentences and walls of text!

Remember guys, these people are paid to spin news and create a good picture of the product they're representing. They certainly won't say the game's unfinished or that the company will just stop supporting the product.
saying "We will continue to make console games" . is not the same as "no we are not aiming to make mobile gaming our main priority"

So, we got nothing. What a surprise. Which day are you waiting for next, Christmas? Someone will probably come up with a theory of how Santa will bring us Chapter 3 on Christmas, because BB believes in him in MGS3.

AAA is over but I'm sure we will see another Metal Gear. They will outsource the game to other studios under a tight budget and milk franchise name until is dead.

Good theory i'm sold, also not only MGS3 > Santa Claus

But on a serious note i think it's possible we might get something till the end of the year, it was a bit odd for me that they were so forthcoming in showing us the cut content from episode 51. Kojima is still working at Konami for a bit longer so to me it seems that they might be testing the waters how DLC goes with the cosmetic stuff they just announced, in a similiar way to Oblivion's horse armor

I didn't actually expect anything today nor does my opening statement ever declare peace day will bring a update. If there's a update it will probably follow a few weeks after MGS online is avillable and even then it will probably just be a announce, net with the actual content not arriving till December or January

Yes, but Robert Peeler for example has clearly stated that insoc isn't a Kojima/Konami thing at all. He outright rejected it. So, they can simply say "No, we have nothing to do with X rumor" or "Y thing is false". It's simple to deny something.

Not to say there is a hidden chapter 3 in the game, 27GB is just too little for it to be there.

So that wasn't a bug. When I was visiting Medical platform that tape was playing and I was like what the f 204863. I'm gonna listen to that tape again.

Edit: That was a bug. I didn't find it prior to that. Right now I'm at that outpost and the tape is still there.

I'm still interested in the FOB nuke disarmament thing. Even if it's just a single cutscene it's pretty cool, but will it ever be unlocked? If all nukes need to be disarmed, then i kind of doubt it.

Well it's either all nukes need to be disarmed or a certain number needs to be disarmed. It's unclear which one. Honestly, I think it serves as an event of some kind. Why else is there an Events tab on FOB missions? Weird thing is Peeler saying he was impressed that people unlocked it this early. Which doesn't fall in line with an event but an already present goal in the game that's achievable.

It's probably a certain number or at least a specific nukes-to-player ratio that needs to be achieved. If it really needs to be completely erased then that's a pretty flawed design.

Not so lonely anymore...

Found it. If you make your horse shit on the face of 1000 soldiers it triggers a secret cutscene.

Look at this from Kojima's point of view. Forget how YOU feel about the ending.

You can tell Kojima thought that the ending is definitive. You can tell Kojima thought it would serve as a great ending to this story.

It's unlocked almost like the trailer in PT that was mentioned - it's supposed to feel like an "oh shit" shocking reveal/climax. It brings the narrative full circle. It features a big reveal for the entire franchise (again, regardless how you feel, it was supposed to feel big). It brings finality to this story, regardless of mission 51 or whatever else being cut.

You should be able to tell what we saw was designed as a grand finale twist - the truth behind not only this game, but the franchise (forgetting all the holes that it creates) - and because of that, Kojima won't be adding any more to the story.

If anything, if we go by the comments and existence of the title card, I think a "Chapter 3" will be the nukes disarmament thing. It'll be like a side story in a lot of ways, but at the same time, feature closure to important themes/messages. It would be misleading for a "Chapter 3" card to flash for FOB missions with an almost disconnected story, but that still makes the most sense.
