Does anyone know how or where the audio files are for the phantom pain? I would like to take the ambient music out since there is no way to lower the music volume in the options. I have a Phantom Pain play series but I would like to put my own music over the video's.

Hey buddy. I've actually been working on this myself for a few days. I'm assuming you're on PC? The sound files for TPP are a pain to decode and encode in WEM format, and most of the game's music and sound files are actually in sound banks called SBPs, which I haven't found a way to crack open yet.

The only files I've been able to successfully decode and find are every single soundfile that can be played via the iDroid. Tapes and music and briefing. Everything else is behind those SBP files.

I thought they would be difficult seeing as how the music seems to be dynamic and linked to the ambient music as well. From what I have seen it seems like there are 3 dynamic tracks for each theme. Undetected ambiance, then alert status, then full blown guns blazing. I'm guessing it has those theme's linked to play at those triggers. Making it difficult to extract or replace them.

See here is my Quiet invading FOB series. I like to put my own music which at the moment works. I just have to replace every sound in the game in editing! Here is episode 4 of my series which if you listen closely you can hear a bit of the ambient music over my music.
