Not literally, but still... this game has a HUGE problem.

I will start by stating that I love stealth games to death and I'm pretty bad at them. I love the challenge of sneaking around without being spotted and the accomplishment that comes after finishing a mission. Only the former is present in MGSV.

It's pretty cool to mark enemies, make your way into the base, make decisions about handling the people inside... until they spot you. Easy mode has been enabled. There's LITERALLY NO FUCKING RISK in raising an alarm. HELL, the game even gets easier when you do it. The gimmicky console shooting mechanics make it SO. EASY. just ramboing in and killing every single russian soldier. What's the point of this?!

I thought that playing a stealth game puts pressure on staying hidden, because if you get spotted, you get overwhelmed by enemy forces and you die. It's completely not the case in MGSV. It's literally I-M-P-O-S-S-I-B-L-E to die, unless you intentionally expose yourself to enemy fire for like... 10 seconds? It's pure bollocks. Why'd you fucking creep around in a game where you can take on tens of enemy soldiers without breaking a sweat?

Here it comes... grades. The cancer of modern games. "Hurr, the game needs to be accessible! Just remove any challenge from completing a mission, so that every 7yr old with assburgers can be Big Boss... and if he's not stealthy, just give him a lower grade". Why would they obliterate all the risk and thrill just for the sake of open-world accessibility? The games nowadays focus way too much on collectibles, grades, fucking points... instead of being a challenge that provides IMMENSE ACCOMPLISHMENT after you finish something.

Don't get me wrong, I loved the intro. It was pretty creepy, and the first stealth episode in the asylum where you DIE AFTER BEING FUCKING SHOT FOR THE FIRST TIME got me like "woah, this is going to be a good stealth game!". Too bad that the game started to suffer from the Assassins Creed syndrome (aka impossible to die, might only get a lower score/grade) shortly.

This is by no means a hate post. It was (kinda) my first MGS game ever. I've only played MGS1 on my playstation when I was a kid and I really sucked at it. It was AWESOME! I failed so many times and it only made me more motivated to try harder.

I'll ask again: W-H-Y the fuck would you make a STEALTH game where RAMBOING IN is actually far easier than being stealthy? Think about it...

Forgive me all the swearing, but as a person that witnessed the golden age of games (1995-2005) it just pains me to see how the "casual" approach is hurting games that would otherwise be really good.
