Are you cutting? Still have time for a 6-12 week cut.

Anyways, anyone else really enjoy downing a protein shake right after strength training? Probably the best drink/feeling of the day outside of sex.

I'm in my cutting phase right now. I was 185 and moved down to 174. I want to be around 165 by the end of my cycle. I have about 4 weeks left. Been dropping about 2-3 pounds a week. Trying to get to a good BMI. Then I will build from there. I'm about 5'9 so 165 is a good weight for me.

You don't need to juice man. Go to church get right with God. Intensify our Back and BIble day. Do your reps for Jesus. And always thank the lord for the gains your about to receive. When there is a will, there is a whey

Not worth it man. Focus on a good diet. Obtain your cut and build from there. You don't need that juice.

anabolics are a part of bodybuilding, but just a part. diet is obviously the focus, i dont plan to use them until i hit my goal bodyfat anyways, which is at least a year off

Not bad, Tom. What's the best back exercise to work on developing the "wings/v" structure? My chest is pretty decent right now, but my back is lacking.

I do a modified PPLxPPL

Push Day: Chest triceps overhead press
Pull Day: Back Biceps rear delts traps
Legs: Legs
rest
repeat
smh so many people think that chest and biceps then back and tri's are a good workout structure

Anything that targets the latissimus dorsi, so that would be both lat pullovers and lat pulldowns. Pullups will work as well but those are not for the faint of heart.

Generally only amateurs think that way; however, doing opposite muscle group workouts as supersets is good (ex: chest + back as a superset). Also, if you have upper cross syndrome, which I was developing for a bit due to overtraining my chest, it's good to do lat pullbacks to straighten out the upper structure before doing chest.

Yeah, I've been doing pullbacks (same as pullovers?) and only recently started doing lat pulldowns, focusing the grip on the middle of the bar.

I assume that you're doing rows, which don't really target the lats, but rather the rhomboids and the middle fibers of the trapezius. Lat pulldowns are more effective on the lats with a wide grip. A close grip will target the biceps and the brachioradialis more, depending whether you're using an underhanded or upperhanded grip, much like a chin-up.

Yeah, I've been doing rows. On the lat pull down, it's not a real close grip, it's the grip before the bar curves down, and I use overhand like a chin up.

Guess I should give it some time, but you say that wide grip is better?

Yes, definetely. You'll find that it will be a lot harder as well, and you'll probably not be able to pull as much weight. Grip width shouldn't really matter for those pullovers, though, since the movement focuses entirely on the lats provided that you keep your arms straight at all times. Also, keep in mind that the latissimus dorsi attaches to the front of your shoulder, so if you have protracted shoulders you'll want to compensate with rows as well.

I used to do chest/back one day then shoulders and arms the next..that wasnt a very good split. I like doing PPL alot.

For back, lat cable pulldowns are great, so are T-bar rows. I feel the best pump from those. Dumbbell rows are cool but i didnt feel the contraction as much. Idk. Tbars worked the best for me. I believe in the flex lewis line of thought, where im not counting sets as much as long as im feeling the contraction and getting the pump. Sometimes ill end up doing 8-10 sets of one motion instead of doing say, 4 sets of one 4 of another just to do different movements.
