Dunno if this is worth shoving into general, but I thought enough of us bust ourselves up, so might as well start a topic.

My right knee has been messing with me. I can walk alright. Dropping to either knee, bending, getting in and out of vehicles, climbing onto and off of stuff, and jogging is giving me a good amount of discomfort. I don't know if it's at the point I could call it pain. I get a good grumble and wince out if it though.

Anyone have any advice on what to do with it? Any position I should leave it in when resting? It's been on and off with having problems. I ran up stairs normally (feet forward) and it hurt when weight got on the knee. Started going up and down stairs with my feet at a 45 degree angle and it was fine.

You stop right fucking there and apologies Infiltrator . CIA is many things; a has been meme master, a baneposter who ran it to the ground so bad to where it stopped being funny, a complete and utter podcast tsundere but I will NOT allow you to call him a shitty Gary Stu who killed a 7 part book series. That's just mean and unfair.

Sorry if I sound angry but this was too much, even with the strike in mind.

I've been paying attention to how I walk. I go heel first and then roll along the inside to the big toe. I dunno if I need to re-learn to walk or what. Roll on the outside blade of the foot or just heel toe heel toe. I don't want to think it's a bigger problem than it is and I'm hoping I can train my muscles and walk like a regular person so I'm not wearing my knee out.

I had to drop down 10' onto concrete and I don't remember any knee pain after that. My right knee is where I put most of my weight when crouching, kneeling, laying down, getting up. It's my main knee. It's also being a bitch.

Is this why you were gone for a month? I remember when I stubbed my toe and I couldn't use the forums for weeks.

CIA - I have had spasms in my knee that got so bad I had to lay in bed, practically paralyzed for a few minutes, in fear of searing pain surging through my knee if I so much as moved my calf. These instances have happened when I stretched incorrectly or moved my leg the wrong way.

However, dull aches, there could be a number of causes for. At any point prior to the discomfort, have you physically exerted yourself or been doing any heavy lifting? Because as far as ways to ease the discomfort are concerned, less exertion and more relaxation are some of the more ideal answers.

Could be serious, could be not. Better get it checked though, because the knee isn't a joint you want to mess with for too long.

EDIT: inb4 this is a troll thread and he ends up saying he went to the doctor and they removed an arrow from his knee.

Just an update, started using a knee brace that applies pressure below and above the knee. It's not 100% but I can manage now. High stairs are a pain though.

I'd go to an orthopedic doc. Before I had my hip replaced, the pain started instantly and ferociously, but it was a different scenario than most joint replacements. Maybe you are having more warning signs than I got, or it could just be tendonitis. In either case, I'd have it checked.

For god's sake man, go to a doctor. Best case scenario is that you have tendonitis, worst case scenario is that you have a torn meniscus. Don't take this shit lightly.

I'll get it checked when my kid's child support goes down. Can't deal with copays or missing time at work. Hope it won't lead to knee replacement.

Alright, but at least get a cane or a crutch to help you with dealing with stairs and going in and out of the car.

I'm with the go to the doctor crew here. Depending on the kind of issue, ignoring it may lead to long term issues. My father had to get his knee replaced, because of a minor injury that was ignored. He could live with it, so he did. What could have been cured with a knee scope surgery turned into a serious surgery with tons of recovery time.

Hope you can get in and get it looked at.

Compromise where you can. Where you can't, don't. Even if everyone is telling you that something wrong is something right. Even if the whole world is telling you to move, it is your duty to plant yourself like a tree, look them in the eye, and say 'No, you move'.

How did you hurt yourself?

Are you taking any medications?
Aside from the brace, what are you doing to help the injury?
What's the pain like? and if you could, maybe point to on a picture of your leg where it hurts.

If you go to the doctor, they are probably initially going to get x-rays and probably enroll you in physical therepy. I will say that ice and Ibuprofen as well as stretching can go a far way.
I am a corpsman in the US Navy and I work with marines. I deal with injuries like this all the time.

He has trouble doing stairs and getting in and out of cars. If that's not a red light then I don't know what is.

I'm still stalling on seeing a doctor. It doesn't HURT right now, just discomfort. Any suggestion on knee stretches, sonic-flamingo ?

I read that soft drinks are linked to joint pain, so I gotta kick that habit and see if I have any improvements. Diet soda is my vice and on a bad day I'll plow through 10 liters.

Well you could do Quadracept stretches and leg lifts. I can send you a couple of the diagrams from work.

And also you should stop with the soda. I get that it's crutch. Its mine too. But that's alot of sugar and it's terrible for your teeth and the rest of your body.
