This is pretty big news..this trailer seemed kind of abstract and symbolic. It could still be like a fucked up dream sequence or something, but if this is the actual game world then this is looking to be a very strange project. |

It would take a lot of time to develop and test a new engine. Too bad he won't be able to use the Fox Engine .I think he might go for Frostbite or UE4. If Death Stranding was a PS4 exclusive i would probably put the Uncharted 4 engine in as well, that game looks great. |

Yeah creating an engine from scratch would just be a huge waste of time and money considering Kojima's current situation and fortunately he has narrowed down the candidates to two, and he says he's close to picking up one. the engine the teaser ran on achieved jaw dropping results and while I have no idea what it is, I do hope he sticks to the one used in the DS teaser and the movie logo. although I'm not an expert on the matter, it does look like UE4 to me. Also, in the latest talk session at SDCC, Kojima confirmed again that what we saw in the teaser will be in the game, and the player character can be controlled freely once the scene transitions to gameplay even in the current build of the game. wonder what would happen if we view naked Norman from the front... UC4 engine is a pretty coveted secret by Naughty Dog, I doubt Sony would let him use it but it'd be great if they do because UC4 looked and was optimized incredibly well. Frostbite is notoriously hard to work with and is an EA engine, isn't it? alot of hoops to go through for that one. That and it doesn't necessarily look better than the other options. Yes Ludens I know you're going to say Battlefront or w/e but that game used a technique that only worked because of real life Star Wars sets, not every game has the luxury of that basis to pull on. |

BF does look amazing and while having the movie sets at their disposal did help them a lot, the engine is also undeniably great. Battlefield 1 looks amazing as well, and it doesn't have the same tech used for BF but looks as good. it'll get downgraded though but on a high end PC, the final game may look as good as what showed. But I agree, UE4 is the best choice considering the ease of use and the jaw dropping lighting and level of detail. it's literally the best engine in the existence as of yet. if Kojima was considering destructible environments then he should've gone for Frostbite but I doubt that's what he's going for. the lighting in the DS teaser and the logo movie was extremely similar to that of UE4, and while I'm not really sure if it's UE4, I really hope he sticks with that one. |

Yeah, you are right. DS is going to be multiplatform, but PS4 timed exclusive. UC4 really was well optimized, ND really knows how to push the limits of their hardware, making the transition from PS4 to Xbox One and PC would require a lot of work(Reminds me of Sonic Boom) When i first watched the trailer, I thought it was pre-rendered would really love to see that in action. UE4 does seem like the best choice, it's constantly evolving.

Studios making their own engines now is just a bad move in my eyes. If only UE4 had come out sooner, we'd not have seen a bunch of companies scramble to put their own engines together [unless they planned on licensing it]. The Dawn engine, FOX engine, etc all those resources could have been funneled into the projects themselves rather than engines. |

I think Ludens is at Death Stranding... One thing Yong did not say: It can be all fake... Even the watter disappeared, like if it was a hologram world. |

You think we'll get a Death Stranding:GZ or PT? Both PT and GZ generated a lot of hype and revenue. |

Good question! I'd definitely buy a GZ of this game. I liked having the prequel as a separate game- in fact I still play GZ now, so I think it would be a great idea. |
