I posted this on a comment on YouTube. It's inspired by a Reddit theory that Mads character is The Sorrow. Before the hate and doubt, I'm a firm believer that DS is not MGS. But This theory is so intriguing to me. So it goes off of a theory that Mads character is The Sorrow in the WWII setting. Now in DS we see a lot of babies. In MGS when you think babies, who comes to mind? Olga's baby. How about Frank Yaegar saving a baby Naomi? Maybe a baby ocelot being taken from The Boss and The Sorrow? We also see what appears to be different timeframes intertwined or maybe Reedus' character is in the same time as Mads but what's with the futuristic hand cuffs in WW2 setting? Mads helmet completely disappearing almost as if it were digital? Maybe the helmet is not really there at all meaning it's all some kind of VR tech. I could see a plot intertwining the story of Grey Fox and The Boss/ The Sorrow. Where Reedus is Grey Fox and The Sorrow is Mads. If there was to be a story about Grey Fox, it would most likely show him becoming the ninja and all the VR training he had to go through. We know Kojima wanted to do a story about The Boss in WWII. The Sorrow is Oceleots father and he can control the dead which is what it looks like Mads character is doing in the latest DS trailer. Again I don't think Kojima is making Metal Gear but if Sony bought the rights and are keeping it a secret, I'm just suggesting what the latest DS trailers are showing. Thing is.... I'm sure Kojima wants to move away from Metal Gear now... I mean it seems as if he does, and I think we all do. It's not that we are bored of MGS (I personally am not), but I enjoyed MGS5 and I think it would be better if Kojima starts something new. I doubt it's anything to do with MGS, although there are several plausible hints that MGS may actually have something to do with this. |

Yeah, DS is a complete new franchise and most importantly by a newly formed development company. The only connection i see MGS having to DS is maybe by some referential easter eggs, but thats about it. |

In the new trailer, the part where Mads dematerialized his night vision goggles was an obvious nod to MGS, the "kept you waiting huh" thing. it's just a nod to MGS and doesn't mean they're related. there's one thing though, Kojima may implement some of the ideas he had in his mind for future MGS games for this game. the world war two setting might be coming from one of those ideas, and it's not only his MGS ideas he might use in DS, he may also be using some of the ideas he had for Silent Hills. as mentioned by Kojima before, DS will have horror elements and there are lots of pretty interesting connections between PT/SH and DS so that's a possibility.

oreos are not gluten free. consider this the one verbal you're getting on the manner. anyway, i really don't think we'll be getting much out of this thread beyond variations of "lol no." so, i'll go ahed and lock it for now, and any continuation can be relegated towards the theories thread. in the future, if you want to create a specific theory thread, make sure there's something tangible to back up an actual two sided discussion. ds being anything related to mgs is a very one sided discussion, at the end of the day. |
